  1. alvin says:

    its excitinggg

  2. mark lester says:

this is my priority in my vacation this april to watch aliwan. Good to all the Contingents.

  3. dong ho says:

im going for dinagyang this year as the best bet for aliwan. i watched their performance in youtube. definitely better than last year.

  4. ariana says:

SINULOG will be represented by ALCOY & CARMEN while provincial government will send PALAWOD FESTIVAL of Bantayan TO COMPETE FOR ALIWAN

  5. mark lester says:

  6. jay says:

why is it masskara festival has no plans of joining the event?is it because masskara is masskara….

  7. Enrico Dee says:

masskara is masskara? i dont think so. one of the requirements in aliwan, i believe is that the music should be live and with that, masskara is automatically out of the contest. Unless they change their music to drumbeats.

  8. summer tripper says:

, we are very lucky to have the aliwan fiesta, grandest of the grendest festivals in the world…

we hope, our province nueva vizcaya could also send its contingent, sayang naman, i am an avid fan of the aliwan, and wish to join again the most awaited part of the 3 day event, the streetdance competition…

but i thing, iloilo will make a revenge… siguro nga 2009 is their most awaited year para makopo ulit ng dinagyang ang aliwan, talagang magaling din kasi sila in fairness….

wala lang, sa mga contingents from luzon, wish you luck… sana kahit 3rd man lang may makapasok narin sa inyo….

  9. nile says:

2 contingent per region ang nasa rules..how come cebu will send 3 contingent…hmmmm…

  10. ryan says:

my bet is on tribu kasag of iloilo kasadyahan.

  11. Xibu says:

    Hi summer tripper,

It will be a tough contest this year a lot of good festivals will be coming; much improved and some are new. Yeah I am hoping that Dinagyang will win again. Why you like Dinagyang?

    Xibu

  12. ariana says:

CEBUANO tribes are the most anticipated tribe since everyone is blank on what CEBU will showcase this ALIWAN. But surely we will send a powerful contingent enough to land on TOP 3 just watchout! GO CEBU!

  13. Xibu says:

    Hi Ariana,

I just saw the Sinulog in Youtube and it’s really great! I like the Sinulog based top winner. if they will represent Cebu it will be amazing! what is your bet to land in the top 3?

    Xibu

  14. ryan says:

tama ka arriana, sigurado top 3 ang cebu.

TOP 1 = TRIBU KASAG OF ILOILO
    TOP 2 = DINAGYANG ILOILO
    TOP 3 = CEBU O KAYA LEYTE

  15. Enrico Dee says:

Xibu, SB grand winner is the Sinanduloy Dance Troupe. its from Tangub City Mis Or. therefore it cannot join aliwan carrying the name of cebu.

ill update the list of contingents after holy week.

  16. eric says:

  17. credgerey says:

So Iloilo City will send tree groups for Aliwan?-though Banate is part of Iloilo province, but It’s the Kasadyahan of Dinagyang the brought them to Aliwan (anyway, hope Iloilo’s delegation will once again captures the heart of crowd ;D).With Samba de Regatta of Iloilo Paraw Regatta as guest performer. that’s final? No More Possible Changes in the list?

  18. ariel says:

bakit walang contingent ang cebu City????????? hay……………….ol i cn say is SAYANG

  19. Virgilio says:

Bakit po wala ang SInulog Festival ng Cebu City at ang Sapatero Festival ng MArikina City…..

  20. taga_tangub says:

    hi.

Sinulog 2009 winner of the SB category is the Sinanduloy Cultural Troupe of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental and not Mis Or.

We are not joning Aliwan representing Cebu (Sinulog) or our very own Dalit Festival due to very tight schedules.

  21. guru_fita2 says:

how come alikaraw is not participating anymore? hhhhmmmmm.. they’re even better…

  22. Enrico Dee says:

alikaw lost in pintados kasadyaan last june. 3rd place lang sila, 2nd place yng karatong thats why…

  23. Myra says:

    hi to all

    my bet to win is

    Sinulog of Cebu
    Dinagyang of Iloilo
    Karatong of Dulag
    Halad festival of Midsayap
    Buyugan of Abuyog
    Kadayawan of Davao

bat hindi sumali ang alikaraw, sinulog of carmen, haizzz..but its ok, marami namang bagong contignents

so GOD BLESS to all my chosen Contingents!!
    specially to all mindanao contingents!!

    ^_^

  24. rea says:

  25. Enrico Dee says:

    walang sinulog sa list ehehe

and please wtch out… I MIGHT do a live webcast of the aliwan..so people in the provinces can watch it here.

  26. jec says:

    promise???

    thanks

    gaya last year???

    heheh

  27. Enrico Dee says:

nah not like last year. this year. I will be streaming live video of the Aliwan :D

  28. joan says:

    tama ka myra

yan din ang bet ko manalo

pero sayang wala ang lumad and carmen of sinulog

    hehehehehe

i am expecting that halad will have a breathtaking dance, like they did last aliwan 2003 and 2004
    hehehehe
    good luck to all!!

    im from ANTIQUE

  29. PG says:

  31. gerald says:

    yup kakasawa talaga
    … no bias
    ewan ko nga…
    bakit nanalo pa…

  32. Xibu says:

    Hello,

I would like to give credit to Mr. Edwin C. Duero who is really the father of Iloilo’s very creative and artistic festivals. It all started when Mr. Duero with the assistance of Mrs. Amaguin invested sweat and blood to the “Dagyaw and Theater Dance Company” of Iloilo National High School and the well-loved Tribu Bola-Bola. before tribu Bola-bola came out the costume, musicality and movements of Dinagyang festival and Kasadyahan is dwelling more into 80′s type of ati movements and Kawilihan’s and Panayanon’s folk dances. do you remember the kasadyahan festival showcases more on folk dances and a bit of dance drama? The dinagyang before focuses more on formations, banig costumes and “sako.” When Mr. Duero’s artistic ideas came out, the costume started to be minimal, but authentic and wild! the movements became difficult, contemporary and modern. until it was adapted by most of the tribes and festivals of Iloilo. Did you know that most of the prime choreographers of the festival of Iloilo like Pintados de Passi, Tultogan, Kasadyahan, Dinagyang… etc got their trainings from Mr. Duero in Dagyaw? They all have grown and became excellent trainors as well scattered in different festivals. Rommel the trainor of tribu Kasag and Ilonganon was a student of Mr. Duero, Errol the choreographer of tribu paghidaet was a student of Mr. Duero, Julius of Sta Barbara’s Kahilwayan, and many more. Many performing artists are asking why in Iloilo the movements, the music and the totality of theatrical presentation is really big deal? because most of the Iloilo artists are trained advance with the help of Mr. Duero. He was the one who brought the Dagyaw to seville spain during the world expo that our country got a standing ovation during the performance. I say he is one of the revolutionary artist of Iloilo in performing arts. so I thank Mr. Duero for his great contribution to the Ilongos.
HOW ABOUT YOU GUYS? You may share your knowledge about your festival there on how it became famous. Like Masskara festival’s mother of creativity was a short lady of and she was the prime choreographer of Lopue’s dept store. I remember they were the one who started the tanga costume in Lambada music, I was a boy that time. he he he! Let’s share sensible thoughts here and not drag each other down.

    All the best!!!

    Xibu

  33. Jack says:

    Hello to all

    and also

    to xibu

were not asking naman about your festival

    FYI:
    NO body cares

    hhehehe

    PEACE

    uhmmmm

    haizzz nalang

    cge po till here

    TAke care

    GODBLESS US ALL

    ^_^

  34. Xibu says:

    Hi Jack,

What is Halad Festival? I want to know because I have’nt been to Mindanao yet. If you could share something you could help promote your mindanao festivals and many will benefit here. I know few festivals of our country that has its own identity but the rest are almost the same. Whoever is that contingent that has the most applause from the crowd, I admire the support of the people. if they traveled far from their province all the way to Manila to support that is really something right? or if they are just only scattered in Manila then gather in one ocassion just to support their beloved festival that is amazing right? they stop for a while leave their work, bring their family and friends and support show their love to their province. for sure its not only those people supporting their own festival from one province are staying in Manila. there are thousands! why can’t they come on that day? why can’t they follow the loyalty of those people? that spirit of those people supporting their festival is really great! With all the support from their province, with all the great preparation plus the support of the people who belongs to the province of that festival and plus the support of other people not from the province of that festival it will really make a difference. if you are not busy on the 25th, bring your family and friends and support your festival. when you are there on the night of the contest you will really see how the people from that province love thier own.

    May the best festival win!

    All the best!

    Xibu

  35. Enrico Dee says:

xibu, halad is from midsayap. theyre the first ever aliwan champion.

as always halad lands in the top 10 eerytime they join aliwan. they never fail to amaze the crowd

  36. Xibu says:

    Hello Enrico,

Thanks for the info and for your great job!

    Xibu

  37. Ian says:

    Hi to all

Thanks for sharing some info of Our Halad Festival Enrico
    ^^,

Yup Halad Festival Never fails to land in the top 10
    and the crowd love’s them

even though there kababayans are not there to support them…

Hope this 25th of April, the people from Manila, and from other provinces will support them!!

I wont be seeing this year’s Aliwan Fiesta..
    T_T

hope the HALAD Festival will bring home the bacon.

    God bless us all

    ^_^

  38. Tagoy says:

    wow festival versus festival…wonderfull

  39. dagoy says:

let’s see nlng this april 25…

    A L I W A N N A ! ! !

    GO PACQUIAO

  40. dagoy says:

  41. jam says:

    Hi Xibu,

Just would like to know, how did you know about Mr edwin Duero?

  42. Xavie says:

    hi dagoy

    uhmm..

    im from mindanao

    ….

uhmmm back to the main discussion

ang mag represent this 2009 is NDRVMCC

    cge po till here

    GOD BLESS

    kitakits nalang sa ALIWAN

    pero

i’ll not be there this years aliwan

    i will be missin it

    T_T

    GOD BLESS

    ^_^

    Xavie

  43. jebema says:

hope walang dayaan ang magaganap lahat tayo kapamilya

  44. LYTZ says:

I noticed that theres a battle of regions going on here? Whats the problem with you guys? This event supposed to unite different cultures here in the Philippines. (Huwag insultuhan please?) Let’s respect everyones festival, cultures, and heritage. Lahat naman ng contigents deserves to win. Kasi all of us are Filipinos. We are talented and creative type of people. Yes, indeed this is a contest. Lets respect the judges decision. Kung sino man yung festival na mananalo, well lets support them to lift up the tourism industry in our country. Damay-damay lng yan eh. If we feed/nourish one part of the body, it benefit the other…In addition, I hope every festival organizer of each festivals will have some kind of conference or forum to share good practices of their respective festivals. (I don’t know if there is. Do they?…) Tama na ang “crab mentality”. Kaya hindi umuusad Pilipinas. Lets work hand in hand in uplifting our tourism industry through “ALIWAN FEST”. I believe that tourism is one of the key to raise our economy. Our country has lots of potentials. With variation of festivals? ano masasabi ng “RIO CARNIVAL”?..Tourism means job!…Are we cool on that?….just being a concerned Filipino.

  45. Ian says:

    yep..

    your right LYTZ

This event supposed to unite different cultures here in the Philippines. at Let’s respect everyone’s festival, cultures, and heritage. Lahat naman ng contingents deserves to win….

GOD BLESS and GOOD LUCK to those who are joining this special event of this country!!

for posting this kind of performance that will be happen in our country..

i will miss the Sinulog Festival, Alikaraw Festival, this both team have a great performance
    to the aliwan.

to the Dinagyang your team is also the one of the best contingent to beat.

and I’m Glad and watch out for the performance of Lakbayaw Festival of Tondo wish that they will land to at least Runner up or better.

    GOOD LUCK LAKBAYAW TRIBU LACSON….

Good Luck to all the contingents..

    Mabuhay ang Pinoy!!

    Mabuhay ang ALIWAN FIESTA…

  48. LYTZ says:

Suggestion: To be fair to all the festivals, sana magkaroon ng category. Luzon Category, Visayaz Category, and Mindanao Category. And each categories shall have its respective champions and runners-up. Para everyone can taste victory.

  50. Ian says:

    yup….

To be fair to all the festivals, sana magkaroon ng category. Luzon Category, Visayaz Category, and Mindanao Category. And each categories shall have its respective champions and runners-up. Para everyone can taste victory.

    ^_^

    GOD BLESS US ALL
