Aliwan 2009 in Unang Hirit!

Today is the opening day of the Aliwan 2009 here in Manila. And while the rest of the population we still asleep earlier today, I headed to the Aliw Theater together with some other photographers to shoot the Unang Hirit coverage of the Aliwan Fiesta 2009.
Karatong Festival
Present in this morning’s show were the Fiesta de Toros Festival of Batangas, Caragan Festival of Mabalacat Pampanga, Ibon Ebon Festival of Candaba Pampanga, Siloy Festival of Alcoy Cebu, Karatong Festival of Dulag Leyte, Buklod Festival of Parang, Shariff Kabunsuan and the Pulang Angui Festival of Polangui, Albay.
Buklod Festival
It was an exciting morning as it gave the televiewers as well as those present in Aliw Theater a glimpse of what to expect this coming Saturday April 25 as 23 festivals from various parts of the Philippines will dance their way to become the next Aliwan Fiesta Grand Champion.
Aside from the streetdance competition, there will also be the float contest and the beauty pageant known as the Reyna ng Aliwan.
Kadayawan Festival
The streetdance contest and float parade will start at 4PM from Aliw Theater to Quirino Grandstand. The Reyna ng Aliwan will be held tomorrow night April 24 at the Aliw Theater.
The Grand Winner of the Festival Streetdance competition will be bringing home a prize of 1Million Pesos.
