Aliwan 2009 Live Webcast

The link to the live webstream was just provided to me. The sender, who is also a reader of this blog said that the webstream will go live today during the Aliwan Fiesta 2009 Streetdance Competition. I am not sure though if the stream will be beamed from Aliw Theater or Quirino Grandstand.
Please note though that since the webstream is provided as-is, by a third party, BYAHILO has no control whatsoever if in any case the stream will not actually push through or if it will be cut off even before the show ends. I am just here to share the stream so that more people could enjoy.
If the stream cannot go live, I suggest that you try to check your Cable TV and look for the RHTV station. Kindly ask your local cable operator if they carry this channel, as it MIGHT also broadcast live, since this is an MBC TV station.
For Cablelink Metro Manila, please check channel 09, Dream Satellite TV channel 10 available nationwide, SkyCable channel 67 for Metro Manila subscribers, and Cable Star Iloilo channel 84

I’m happy for all who won in this years Aliwan. i’m proud of our Iloilo Contingent. It’s probably the most well represented and most organized group in Aliwan this year.
let’s just remember that it’s more in the participation and promotion and not on the actual prize that we should focus on.
Eric, can you check what is the nature of Lakbayaw Festival? do they “celebrate” a different festival each year? is that the main concept of there festival?

FYI, alcoy siloy was 10th. they were the first to be announced.
I cannot complain more about the results. I was there and I was pretty sure that dinagyang will not win this year.
it was a good preformance but still lacks some more Wow power.
i was rooting for either kasag or buyugan to win.. Karatong was good too. I was even scared that they could make a surprise win.
i have always qualified my use of terms in my posts.. i never generalized Cebuanos. I have qualified it already that I am referring to those Cebuanos who are cheap in claiming victory for others. And if ever Dinagyang will boycott Aliwan.. its their call not mine!
read between the lines my friend and admit it to yourselves… BUYOGAN is the WINNER, not SINULOG!
i rest my case here: my fight is not against Sinulog but only to those who pose to claim victory for Buyogan and to Lakbayaw Festival who imitated everything in Tribu Paghidaet! I am satisfied with the results, but I am sad that Dinagyang did not make it… but who cares Kasag won 2nd best and Dinagyang 3rd best!
Just a piece of question, Sir Enrico… d po ba dapat ang contigent na pinapadala ng isang province sa Aliwan ay dapat champion sa sariling nilang festival streetdance competition? bakit may mga festivals na kasali sa Aliwan na kung saan-saang festival sumasali? Wla ba clang sariling festival na sasalihan? D po ba pag ganun ung set-up, violation na yun sa rules ng Aliwan that contigents should be a winner in their own respective festival competitions?

JC as far as i know lakbayaw is also a santo nino fiesta.. whats just disheartening is that, they have copied the entire concept of dinagyang. and even presented it in aliwan.
when they performend, only a handful applauded kasi alam ng tao na it was a copy. their costume is similar to the ones used by paghidaet today. their music is crappy.
timlimbunao, actually i was also asking that question… kasi id be even more happier if cebu sent the Don Sergio Osmanea Natl high School kasi 1st runner up sila vs Sinanduloy sa SB category.
but as always, prerogative ng local festivals kung sino ipapadala nila.

anyways its over and we got a new winner for this year its buyogan for street dance sian elzabeth maynard of cebu for festival queen and float from loaog and no one can change that anymore better luck next time

As always i welcome your unbiased comments. I really was routing for Kasag Festival of Banate, I know Dinagyang would have a hard time this year ever since i saw them win and got crowned as champions of this years Dinagyang 2009. Nonetheless Iloilo did a great job this year. Including the Samba de Regatta, hehehe
Are you going to Pattarraday Festival this year? dinagyang is again invited to go there. (i dunno about Kasag though).
Next time mag twitter ka ulit na lang. its getting so popular here in the US. CNN and the other TV networks, including popular individuals are always using it now.

basta ung concern ko is how to get Lakbayaw Festival pay for their theft….
JC im supposed to go to Bangus Festival this monday. dinagyang is also going there. but i NEED to rest kasi i have a whole week of traveling mid-may, so im forced to cancel it. im still thinking of Id go to pattaraday this may 2.
just goes to show how underrated Pintados Kasadyaan is.
Tribu Alikaraw (Aliwan 08 finalist), Karatong and Buyogan Festivals are all from Pintados-Kasadyaan of Leyte.
watch out for a bigger and better Pintados-Kasadyaan 2009 this June!

mostly kasi ng festivals ng negros most esp. masskara (which accdg. to Sir Eric) does not have a live accompaniment which is the no. 1 requirement sa Aliwan.

2009 Winners
Buyogan Festival of Abuyog, Leyte romped off with this year’s Festival Dance Championship in a highly exciting showdown with other contingents from all over the country. Tribu Kasag from Banate, Iloilo representing the Kasadyahan Festival, took home the second place trophy. Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National HIgh School, delineating Iloilo’s Dinagyang, settled for third place.
In the Float Design competition, Laoag; Ilocos Norte scored its second straight victory with an extremely well-crafted entry depicting the Abel Iloko, Woven and Worn. Cotabato’s Lemba came in second, with Paghidaet’s Dinagyang float emerging third.
Sian Elizabeth Maynard of Cebu’s Sinulog was crowned this year’s Festival Queen, with Romarie Ivy Cunanan of General Santos City garnering second place. Runner-up honors went to Kadayawan sa Davao’s Aliah Heitz, Panagbenga’s Parul Framil Shah, and Pamulinawen festival muse Kate Lao.
