Aliwan 2009 Winners will be known today!

Just before the clock strikes midnight today, the new Aliwan Fiesta 2009 Winners will be officially declared.

This will happen after the streetdance competition that will commence at 4PM at the Aliw theater and will end up in Quirino Grandstand.
23 Festivals will be competing in today’s Grand Aliwan Fiesta 2009 Streetdance competition. The winner will be taking home a whooping cash prize of 1Million Pesos.
GenSan Kalilangan Blocking rehearsal
I was at the Aliw Theater and Quirino Grandstand yesterday for the blocking rehearsals. It has already given me an idea of what to expect today. And I also have started to list down my own top 10. We’ll see if my top 10 would actually make it on the winner’s list.
Iloilo Dinagyang Festival’s blocking rehearsal
I was also able to check out the floats at the back of the Aliw Theater. Some have started taking its shape in form while the rest are are almost done already. The floats of Iloilo Baguio and Laoag are just one of the first to get into the “50% done” level.
Yesterday, I was also able to witness the rehearsals of the Aliwan Festival Queen. I was a bit surprised that they have already changed the name from Reyna ng Aliwan to Aliwan Festival Queen. It is a welcome change. Aliwan Festival Queen sounds better unlike the original name.

Hi to All the Fans of Lumad Basakanon (Sinulog Festival of Cebu City), Sorry but were not there on Aliwan today to compete, since were ineligible to enter this years aliwan fiesta 2009 for being elevated to the Hall of Fame. Goodluck to the new Champion for this years Aliwan 2009. Bring the proud and the bacon to your own beloved city. Hpe to see the winner of this years aliwan.. Have a nice competition to all of the Contingents.

Jay of Lumad… khit na hindi kayo na-induct sa hall of fame… d pa rin kyo mkakasali sa Aliwan 2009 kasi nga hindi kayo nanalo sa Sinulog. Do not mislead people by saying that the Aliwan hall of fame prevented you from performing… nagkataon lng na binigyang kayo ng hall 0f fame… eh kung wlang hall of fame… d pa rin kayo mkakaperform kasi talo kayo sa Sinulog 2009.

Oo nga mga kababayan ang lumad hindi talaga mkasali at dahil hindi sila nanalo sa sinulog at deneclare sila ng mga organizer doon na repeat performance parin walang bago at nandoon din kami sa cebu nuong sinulog ,still i love dinagyang napaka consistent. Mabuhay ang Dinagyang….you are really the best festival of the philippines.

Correction walang talo sa ILOILO contingents all in top places ,at napaka consistent ng Iloilo Festivals hindi nawawala yan. Ang lumad hindi talaga makasali kasi deniclare sila as repeat performance sa sinulog at para nga maiwasan ang re-cycle of performance kailangan idagdag ang criteria ng originality para hindi na tangapin ang paulit ulit na performance at nakakasawa at wala ng alam na iba pang presentations.

Iloilo Dinagyang had been the 2004 Aliwan Festival Champion,(that was the 2nd year of aliwan) and a consistent top 3 winner since the Aliwan Festival started. Even though Dinagyang Festival is not the champion, still Dinagyang continue to capture the hearts of the viewers and remain the CROWD CHAMPION!
