President Glora Macapagal Arroyo has signed last week Proclamation No. 1808-A, amending the Proc 1808, originally signed early this year.
The new amendment states that the feast of Eid’l Adha will only be observed in Autonomous Regoin of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and not in the entire country. This means, outside ARMM, regular work schedule will be followed.

Just today, Philippine president, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has declared the November 27-28 as Public Holidays in the observance of the Eidl Adha or the Feast of the Sacrifice which is observed by the Muslim Community.
This is the first time that the entire Filipino nation will be observing this holiday, and the second Muslim holiday to be observed nationally. The first Muslim holiday being observed is the Eid’l Fitr of the Festival of Breaking the Feast.
The new holiday will also make the last week of November as a four-day work break as November 30 (monday) will also be a Holiday (Bonifacio Day)

Yesterday I went to the Manila World Trade Center after I got invited to the opening day of the 2009 Manila International Auto Show. Considered as the Philippine’s biggest motoring event, the Manila International Auto Show is set to surpass itself in its 5th installment and milestone year set to be held from April 2-5.

Calling all photography enthusiasts! Win P50,000 for the best photograph taken at this year’s Aliwan Fiesta 2009!
The photography competition, launched by Manila Broadcasting Company in line with this year’s festival, carries the theme “Sining Makulay” to highlight the colorful and exquisite craftsmanship of the Pinoy, as seen through the various art forms manifested through Aliwan Fiesta – whether in dance, float design, or in the festival queen pageant.

The competition. is open to both amateur and professional photographers, using digital or film-based cameras. Photos must be taken during the grand parade on April 25, and should not have won nor have been published in any book or photography magazine.
Entries must be printed in full colour on any brand of photo paper in 8R size (8 inches x 10 inches). The name of the photographer should not appear on the face of the entry. Contestants are allowed a maximum of three (3) entries each.
These should be submitted to Eloi Baltazar at the MBC office, Sotto Street, CCP Complex, Pasay City in an envelope with an Aliwan Fiesta Photo Competition entry form in triplicate (one copy attached to the photograph, one for the receiving staff, and one copy for the photographer-entrantAll entries become the property of MBC, which will have the right to reproduce, exhibit, or publish the images for promotional purposes, indicating and acknowledging the photographer.
