Spending an afternoon at the Holy Rosary Cathedral in Dipolog City
Posted by on June 23, 2009
One of the must-see sights in Dipolog City is the Holy Rosary Cathedral. The church was built in 1896 but has been renovated during the 70′s.
I was a bit surprised though that it has just been renovated and its facade is new. Though the church is more than a hundred years old, you can no longer feel its age because of the new facade.
But what amazes me is that the altar is said to have been designed by our National Hero himself, Dr. Jose Rizal.
Another interesting piece to note is the church’s carved ceiling. The intricate design is very lovely. The ceiling is actually made of local wood, narra.
I just hope that they would preserve the church’s interiors. So that the younger generation could still see and appreciate the beautiful interiors of this church.

It looks like an awesome church!
hope you take ashot ofthe whole facade.
