World Pyro Olympics 2010 Schedule at The Fort

Posted on July 9, 2009

UPDATE:

The World Pyro Olympics has been postponed by the organizers and moved to January 2010 due to heavy rains. In an official statement, it reads:

The Executive Committee of the World Pyro Olympics (WPO) 09 announces the postponement of the WPO originally set on November 28, December 5, 12 and 19, at the Bonifacio Global City to a later date early next year.

The incessant rains and flooding during the past months have rendered the firing area almost unfit for pyrotechnics launchings which have certain international standards to observe. The participating countries have thus agreed to postpone the event

Ticket holders are requested to contact WPO hotline 568-6908 / 384-0239 or log on to www.worldpyroolympics.com for more details.

Who knows why Pyro Olympics is always held at our country? (though Im thankful for it) But Im just curious..

  15. vander on July 27th, 2009 11:59 pm

WPO is always held in our country because the organizers are based here…. basically it’s just a normal fireworks competition.

  16. mavsganda on August 2nd, 2009 1:47 pm

WPO attracts tourism in the Philippines. Many kababayans also come home during the holiday season. I’m just wondering why it is being held before that. I’ve been boasting to my friends abroad about this event and it is so frustrating that they won’t be able to witness the grand bang this year since they would be coming during and not before the holidays.

Depends where you’re from. If you think about it, Fort Bonifacio is just across Makati City. It’s like a 5min cab from Edsa Ayala to Fort Open grounds. It was a bit hassle if it’s in MOA since it’s always a gridlock in there. You gotta have your car parked somewhere in MOA in the morning, wait till its like 6pm to watch the pyro, otherwise, you won’t get your car moving if you’ll try to go there at 5pm onwards.

  24. ritz on November 28th, 2009 10:45 am

Would you know if the schedule of the pyro today november 28 is posponed? how can that be?

  25. may_joy on January 2nd, 2010 3:45 pm

please post the the schedule of WPO for this january, so i can watch w/ my family.

    Thanks. . .

God Bless and More Power. . .
