Kultura Filipino Shows this Juy

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is calling on foreign and local culture aficionados to experience Kultura Filipino, which features the Philippines’ traditional songs and dances as presented by the country’s top performing groups. Launched early this year by DOT, in partnership with the National Commission on Culture and Arts (NCCA), Kultura Filipino is held every Tuesday and Thursday at Barbara’s Restaurant at the Plaza San Luis Complex, History Town Intramuros, Manila.

A day at of Fun Finds Food and Fashion at the SM Fairview

This is actually my first time to set foot in SM Fairview. As always, I jokingly call this shopping mall as SM FARview!

This is because Fairview, Quezon City seems an eternal travel for me, since I am living in the Pasay City area, which is very adjacent to the Mall of Asia.

The life and Art of Carlos Botong Francisco

Last Thursday, I was able to join a media tour to the house where National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco once lived.

Carlos “Botong” Francisco was one of the greatest Filipino visual artists and muralists, best known for his vibrant, sprawling murals specially commissioned by the Malacañang Palace, Manila City Hall, Philippine General Hospital and Fort Santiago.

World Pyro Olympics 2010 Schedule at The Fort

UPDATE:

The World Pyro Olympics has been postponed by the organizers and moved to January 2010 due to heavy rains. In an official statement, it reads:

The Executive Committee of the World Pyro Olympics (WPO) 09 announces the postponement of the WPO originally set on November 28, December 5, 12 and 19, at the Bonifacio Global City to a later date early next year.

The incessant rains and flooding during the past months have rendered the firing area almost unfit for pyrotechnics launchings which have certain international standards to observe. The participating countries have thus agreed to postpone the event

Ticket holders are requested to contact WPO hotline 568-6908 / 384-0239 or log on to www.worldpyroolympics.com for more details.

When I heard this news yesterday I could not contain my excitement that the 2009 World Pyro Olympics will be back! And be back with more bang, that is!
