The Cebu Ceboom Adventure Part 2
Posted by on August 12, 2009
Our day 2 in Cebu in Cebu is supposedly reserved for an out of town lunch in Talisay then shoot in Carcar. But plans changed. I really do not know what’s in me that plans always change at the last minute when I go places with a detailed itinerary.
But anyway, it’s just fine. Mica, Aaron Xie and I woke up very late at around 10 in the morning. It was actually Sinjin who woke us up in hotel.
After taking shower and fixing ourselves, we then head to Abuhan Dos for our hearty brunch. Abuhan is always known for its mouth-watering steaming hot pochero and the sizzling beef pochero.
Halfway during our lunch fiesta, Bong texted us and said that they’re now in Cebu City, coming from Bantayan. So we waited for him and his friend for lunch.
After the meal, Aaron, Xie, and Bong are planning to try the Sky Experience Adventure or more popularly known as the Edge Coaster in Regency Hotel. The plan is Sinjin, Mica and I will just for them to finish the edge coaster, since Mica has already did this last Friday, and Sinjin and I have no intentions of doing it.

I’m scared to death, noh! But Bong is so makulit! hahaha Ayun, right at the counter, he has successfully convinced me to try the edge coaster.
Grabe. At first my eyes are squeezed so tight. But little by little I was able to open them and see Cebu City from a different perspective. Yeah the experience is worth the price! More about the edge coaster experience in a separate post.
From Crown Regency Tower, we then head to the Cebu Provincial Capitol for some more photo ops. Jumpshot kung jumpshot! Parang walang bukas! Everyone’s having so much fun taking turn in front of the camera, while the security guards and the usiseros where enjoying watching us.

Jumpshot at the Cebu Capitol Intersection, Kaya nyo yan?
From there, Bong left the group and headed to Ayala for a meeting, while the rest of us, hailed a cab and head straight to the Pasalubong haven of Cebu: Tabo-an Market!
Dried fish of all sorts all scream for our attention. Reguar salted Danggit, Saltwater-treated danggit, dried squid, hibi, fish tocino, fish tapa, dried labahita, and a whole lot more.
Aside from the dried fish, other pasalubong items are also on sale like dried mangoes, otap, rosquillos, chicharon and more.
The five of us had a grand time shopping for our pasalubong. at the end of the day, I bought several packs of Guadalupe Dried Mangos, half kilo of Saltwater-treated Danggit (it’s less salty and more expensive) and a quarter kilo of dried fish bones known as Jurassic in Bacolod. Dunno how they call that in Cebu.
From Taboan Market, we then dropped by at the Shamrock Pasalubong Center near the Fuente Osmeña, because Aaron wanted to buy some more items there.
Then we head to another popular Tourist destination: The Taoist Temple. Unfortunately the gates are already closed. the guard said that the temple closes at 5:30PM but when we checked our watch, it was only 5PM! so I asked why he’s closing the gates when it was only 5PM and there’s still a 30minute allowance. He just said “It’s an order from the management”.

No Taoist Temple this time, sorry
Oh well. We were unsuccessful in our Taoist Temple attempt. So what we did was just sit in front of the gate, I opened my dried mangoes and eat it. Then the rest of the gang asked for more jump shot pics! Hindi sila adik noh? Hahaha
From the Taoist Temple we then went back to our hotel room to bring back the pasalubong bags, freshen up and prepare for dnner.
Because I have been very tired that day, I dozed off and was just awaken by Mica asking us where to eat dinner, because Bong is already texting her.
So after taking a good shower, we then head to Golden Cowrie near the IT park for a night of seafood fiesta!
grilled tuna belly, baked scallops, deep fried tuna fingers, kare kare, Chicken Halang Halang were served in front of us. the food is great, and most importantly, reasonably priced!
From Golden Cowrie, we then head to the IT Park supposedly for a cup of coffee. But the winds changed and everyone is now craving for alcohol. To keep the long story short, we capped our night at the Moon Cafe for some booze.
Please wait for my detailed posts about the places I have visited and the foods I tried!
