Majica Masskara unveiled last night!
Posted by on October 15, 2009
If I am not mistaken, Majica Masskara has been in the Masskara Festival schedule of activities for many years now.But most of the time the event is held inside a gallery. And because it is inside an rt gallery, only few people would get inside.

But this year is different. The Bacoleño artists have decided to stage this year’s Majica Masskara on the streets. In this way, more people can see the work of art and let the masses enjoy it.
So while I was walking around the Bacolod Public Plaza Area, I discovered something exciting is happening at one end of the plaza. A 40-meter trailer was installed with some artsy fartsy decor with some clowns and dancers.

Young kids enjoying the Majica Masskara show
Ahhh it was the Majica Masskara! It was in fact, my first time to see it. Lovely! Very creative. and Very very beautiful.
It reminds me of the large floats during the Grand Carnival in Rio de Janeiro but this one’s different. The float doesn’t play the Samba music, but Masskara music all throughout the night.

Very Ilonggo. very Bacoleño. The crowd last night, mostly locals, enjoyed the show.
I hope that this event will continue next year! More power to the artists of Bacolod!

these are lovely! the euphoria, even just from the photos, is contagious. can’t wait for more of your uploads.
