The Ovi by Nokia Photo Contest Week 2 is probably the most challenging so far. With 183 entries, a lot of good entries are deserving to win this week’s contest. This week’s theme is Sand, Sea, and Sun.
From 180+ entries, I asked my friends, some are bloggers and some are photographers, to make a shortlist. they were able to successfully trim down the entries to 20, from there, I asked another set of friend to cut it to 5. And from there A friend and I was able to unanimously make a decision. It was tough, but really fun! I am so amazed at the all the beaches we have here in the Philippines!
And the Ovi by Nokia Photo Contest Week 2: Sand, Sea, and Sun Winner is…
We’re now on the Week three of the “What’s your latest DiscOVIry” Photo Contest! The week 2 is an amazing week! We had more than 160 entries! It is really amazing to see how beautiful our beaches are, right?
I am now on the final stage of judging these entries. Out of the 160+ entries. I was able to trim it down to 15 then to final 5. As usual some college friends, bloggers, photographers, and a few I know in some online forums judged this entries.
I’ll be announcing the Week 2 Winner tomorrow!
For the week 3, our theme is “Me AND the City” Its very simple. What we need to see in our OVI folder are photos (whether you are alone or in group) posing in front of a popular scenery, landmark or structure here in the Philippines. See example photo below:

Byahilo in front of Cebu Provincial Capitol
I’m sure we all have this kind of photos. I can still remember, I had my photo taken in front of the Negros Occidental Capitol, I have my photo along the green hills of Batanes, I also had photos with the Ati during the Dinagyang Festival, and the masked dancers of Masskara Festival.
To join the contest, view the FULL Mechanics here Please, read the mechanics carefully. Don’t forget the required details when submitting entries like Name, Captions and your OVI EMAIL ADDRESS. It is very important! Please be creative your entry titles. Please note that Ill include the entry titles and captions/descriptions in my criteria for judging.
And please, activate the Google map by adding a location in your photo. This could also give other people an idea where your photo was taken. Tagging location is optional, but I would greatly appreciate it if you can do this.
Upload your Week 3 photos
This is the third time that I got a nomination for the Philippine Blog Awards. This year, I got 3 nominations + 1 special award.

I have been to Cebu five times this year. And everytime I visit the the city originally known as Villa del Santissimo Nombre de Jesus, I normally book a hotel room. But during my latest trip to Cebu I didn’t book a hotel. What I got is a bed space at Sugbutel Bed & Bath .
