Roxas City hosts the Western Visayas Tourism Assembly 2009

Roxas City, Capiz is now gearing up as it hosts the annual Western Visayas Tourism Assemby 2009. the WVTA is the largest gathering of tourism stakeholders in Western Visayas or Region 6.

Kasag Festival, Banate Iloilo

WVTA is major tourism event in Region 6 where all the provinces, together with its towns and cities gather to showcase the tourism potentials of every place. It is also a venue where they can promote their produce through the One Town One Product concept (OTOP). specialty foods from the region will also be showcased during the food festival.

This year’s event is scheduled December 4-6, 2009. Expected to attend the 3 day Assembly are the City, Municipal and Provincial Tourism Officers, Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Hotels and Restaurant Managers in the region, among others.

Among the highlights of this year’s Western Visayas Tourism Assembly are the Regional Parade of Festivals, Regional Tourism congress, Regional Tourism Excellence Award, and the Miss Western Visayas Tourism beauty pageant.
