Bacolod city has no white sandy beaches. It’s a given fact. So when we hav the urge to take a dip or escape the city scene, we would normally go to Palmas del Mar Resort in Bacolod.

There are no beaches in Bacolod, but what is good in this city is that there are now resorts where one can enjoy swimming and unwind with families and friends.

So when I went back to Bacolod last week with my sister, my nephew and some friends, we decided to spend a day here and enjoy a day of swimming galore!

Palmas del Mar Resort is a favorite family weekend destination in Bacolod. The resort is located right at the back of the old Bacolod City Airport, and is accessible via public transport. Entrance fee is PHP40 for adults and PHP55 for the swimming fee.

There are I think three swimming pools in the resort. One is the large public pool with waters slide, right beside it is the kiddie pool and at the other end of the resort is a private pool for hotel guests.

There are cottages available for day tour guests. For those who wish to spend a night at the resort there are plenty of hotel rooms available.

Palmas del Mar is also a popular Pre-nup photography location, and a favorite Wedding Reception as well. Garden Wedding can also be held in the resort. There is a specially allocated area for garden weddings, where couples could say there “I do” in front of a fiery sunset.

There is also a bar and restaurant for those who would just come to the place and dine or simply enjoy booze. The resort lobby and restaurant area also has WiFi access. Speed is quite fast!

Palmas del Mar has been our suki Sunday lunch and special occassion destination before. And until now I still love this place. A lot of improvements have already been made since I last came here some 4 years ago.
