Santa Barbara Cemetery

Right after we went to the church and convento of Santa Barbara, we then took a tricycle ride to the Santa Barbara Cemetery.
If you take a look closely at the gates of the Santa Barbara it has similarities to the facade of the Santa Barbara Church.
Both were designed using the Neo Classical style of architecture. The cemetery is located some half a kilometer away from the church.
One of Iloilo’s greatest sons were buried here: General Martin Delgado. He led the revolt in Iloilo which toppled the Spanish forces in a battle known as the Cry of Santa Barbara.
And every month of November, the people of Santa Barbara remembers the heroic deed of General Martin Delgado in a fiesta known as Kahilwayan Festival or the Freedom Festival.
