A quick glimpse of the past at the Malacanang of the North

It has always been my plan to go to the Malacañang of the North or locally known as Malacañang ti Amianan. I am just so fortunate that during my recent trip to the Ilocandia, Malacañang ti Amianan is included in our itinerary.
According to guidebooks, Malacañang of the North was built in 1977 during the administration of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos. During his 20 years in power, Malacanang of the North became the Marcos’ family vacation house when they are in Ilocos.
The mansion has been a silent witness to how grand and lavish the lifestyle of the Marcoses during their heyday. Grand parties for the socialites are oftentimes held in this mansion.
When I got inside the mansion, I was really awestruck at its sheer size. It was just too big! And the grand staircase leading to the second floor is just so lovely. The rooms are very large. What I also like about the house is that it is overlooking the Paoay Lake.
When Marcos was ousted as President, the new government converted the Mansion into a Museum. Today, it is the Department of Tourism that handles the operations of Malacanang ti Amianan.

I have pics in every corner of Malacañang of the North indeed it was unforgettable experienced
i’ve been here and it’s really huge house. wonderful especially the garden at the bavk of the house.
