The gem known as Dingle Church
Posted by on January 6, 2010
Iloilo is really blessed with so many grandiose churches. Really big, breathtaking structures can just be found all over the province. Among these lovely structures worth visiting is the stone church in the town of Dingle, Iloilo (pronounced as Ding-le^).
The church in Dingle is made of limestone that has been quarried from Mt. Bulabog. The church was built in 1886. The Church was built by the Augustinians using the Baroque Architectural Design.
Dingle Church has been on my must-visit list since 2006. And last December 2008, I almost had the chance to visit this church after making a road trip from Roxas City to Iloilo. But I was just too tired to make a stop.
So last December 2009, I finally had the chance to see the church up close and personal. When Junelle, Marc, Junnjun, and I traveled from Roxas City to Iloilo, we made a quick stop in Dingle church for some photo op.
And what a perfect timing it is! We arrived in Dingle with the most beautiful sunlight! Lighting was not harsh, and everyting is golden. the sky is blue, and not too much people at the church area!
A visit to Dingle Iloilo is a good side trip during the Dinagyang 2010.

I love church photography
I did not appreciate this treasures of Dingle before but looking at it now, I fell the nostalgia especially seeing the Dingle Church and the dam. I was baptized in this church last 1960 while I had to cross the dam every morning and afternoon in going to and from school; Monday to Friday. I grew up in Moroboro, Dingle at the foot of Bulabog Mountain and finished my Elementary in Dingle Elementary School.
