There are certain foods that we always get to associate with cities. It’s like dried mangoes with Cebu or Batchoy with iloilo. In the case of Dumaguete City Philippines it’s the Sans Rival Cake and Sylvannas.

Sans Rival Cafe and Pastry Shop in Dumaguete City is known to be the home of the best tasting Sans Rival and Sylvannas in the Philppines. It is not surprising to see the quaint coffee/pastry shop full of people during lunch time or merienda hours.
When I was in Iloilo recently, I stayed at The Eastern Hometel which is located inside the Ledesco Village, Iloilo City Philippines.

I always travel, and picking an accommodation is an important part of the planning stage. But being a backpacker, most of the time I go for accommodations that are reasonably priced, with all the basic necessities that I need: bathroom/toilet, a bed, and a place where I can leave my backpacks.
Last February 20, Marc, Audrey, Whyte, Junnjun and I went to Bauhinia Filipino Cuisine Restaurant in Smallville Iloilo City Philippines to sample their latest menu offerings. Bauhinia Restaurant is known for offering a wide array of delectable Filipino dishes done in Ilonggo way.

Here’s some more photos from the recently-concluded Paraw Regatta Festival 2010. A long time ago, the Paraw Regatta eventis only held for one day. Usually early Sunday morning of February. In recent years, the organizers have introduced new events to the delight of the crowd.
