Back in Bacolor Church

I have been to the San Guillermo Church in Bacolor Pampanga Philippines several times. And in most of these times, there were only a few tourists who visited the place. But after ABS CBN used the Bacolor Church as the setting for its primetime drama “May Bukas Pa”, tourist arrival in Bacolor has increased significantly.
With the increase in number of tourist arrivals in Bacolor, many locals had the chance to earn extra dough by selling rosaries, candles, prayer booklets, and some pasalubong items.
Many times, visitors would all explore the chambers at the church museum which has been used in the drama as rooms where its lead character “Santino” would roam around. Many are eager to look for the image of “Bro”. An image of the risen Christ used ion the show which, according to the story talks to the boy Santino.
The Bacolor Church became a tourist destination after it was half buried in lahar when Mt. Pinatubo erupted during the 90′s.
Today, the main door in front of the church was used to be a church window.
The Church of San Guillermo in Bacolor Pampanga is a good sidetrip itinerary for the 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010 in Clark Field Pampanga.
