The Clark Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010: Up up and Away!
Posted by on February 11, 2010
Early morning today, I left Manila and took a 2AM bus bound for Dau, Pampanga Philippines. Today is the first day of the 15th Philippine International hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark Field Pampanga.
I arrived at the venue around 4:30 AM. It has given me more than enough time to survey the area before the place got crowded.
At around 6AM the brass band played the Philppine National anthem with a sky jumper carrying a Philippine Flag.
Moments later hot air balloons started to get inflated, and in no time, the skies of Clark Pampanga became a sight to behold! With twenty colorful Hot Air balloons coming from all over the globe, Clark has one again proved to become the biggest air show in the country.
There were some balloons that have participated before, and at the same time, new balloons were also seen. Among my favorites for this year are the Beer bottle-shaped balloon, the Old McDonald Farmhouse hot air balloon, the turtle shaped balloon and the Sun balloon.
the weather is more than perfect for flying. The wind is ideal for ballooning, its not too strong. Not unlike 2 years ago when the balloons, were not allowed to fly due to strong winds.
Oh, and there’s blue skies too! really lovely weather. I just hope that this weather condition would stay until the 14th.
I will no longer go back to the PIHABF 2010 since I’ll be out of town tomorrow. Many thanks to Air Ads, the organizer of the Philippine International hot Air Balloon fiesta 2010 for the Media Id, and to Marquee Mall Angeles for the schwags.

Ang saya talaga! Para akong bata when i went there last Saturday LOL
me and my family was there..it was really fun.
Me and my family witnessed the 15th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at Clarkfield, Pampanga last 14 Feb 2010. It was an amazing and spectacular experience. A highly recommended family experience. Here, you will actually witness (firsthand up-close & personal) how a hot air balloon flies from the time it’s unfolded from the truck to the time of its flight. See more than 20 or so balloons in varying colors and shapes fly off the ground: a photo spectacle.
