Sidlakang Negros Park in Dumaguete City
Posted by on March 3, 2010
My hometown, Bacolod City Negros Occidental has Panaad sa Negros Park which is the home of the annual Panaad sa Negros Festival. On the other side of the island, is the Sidlakang Negros Park located in Dumaguete City Philippines, which is also the home of annual province-wide fiesta Buglasan Festival.
And just like in Panaad Park, pavilions were also set up to promote the local products as well as the tourism potentials of the various cities and towns of Negros Oriental.
When Marc and I went to Sidlakang Negros last February, some pavilions were open and sells assorted trinkets and products from various towns. But since it is not yet festival season, many of the pavilions are closed.
The Sidlakang Negros is worth a visit since you get a glimpse of what the entire Negros Oriental province has to offer without even leaving the capital city of Dumaguete. There is also a Provincial Tourism Satellite Office that will gladly help you in your needs. When we visited the office, they gladly helped us in planning what to do and where to go. they even invited us to go back to Dumaguete sometime next week for the International Music and Arts Festival. Unfortunately I will not be able to go back to the City of Gentle people to cover this International arts event.
The best time to go to Dumaguete city and experience the best of Sidlakang Negros is every 3rd and 4th week of October when the entire province celebrates the annual Buglasan Festival.

I have been here last December and all I can say is that this park is so nice and a perfect place for family gatherings.
I love the pics. Very nice!
