Bacong Church

When I was in Dumaguete recently, I stayed there in the province of Negros Oriental Philippines only for a night. To cut expenses, I stayed with my friend in the town of Bacong, some 10 kilometers away from the capital Dumaguete City.
Bacong Church is located just beside the town plaza and the municipal hall. Very typical of Spanish-planned towns. Th church was built around 19th century using dark colored sandstone. Its use of sanndstone is unusual as most churches in the Visayasn region prefers the use of the light colored coral stone.
Inside the church is a German pipe organ. One of the very few remaining in the country. To go to the Bacong Church, all you need to do is ride jeepney that’s bound for Bacong, and alight at the town plaza.
