Siquijor Accomodation: Hotel Agripino

Posted by Enrico Dee on March 9, 2010

Even before I got to set foot in the Mystic Island of Siquijor Philippines, I already made a research on what to do, where to go and where to stay. Among the top option recommended by bacpackers as well as friends who have previously been to Siquijor is the Agripino Hotel in Salagdoong, in the town of Maria, Siquijor Philippines.

The hotel is owned and operated by the provincial government of Siquijor.Yey! Their LGU has a good project like this! (I hope other LGUs can also do something like this).

The hotel is nestled on top of the hill which has a great view of the sea. You will definitely love the view of the sea from the hotel veranda!

Agripino Hotel looks new. The hotel opened only in 2008. The room is clean. Two single beds with A/C, ensuite toilet/bathroom for only PHP800 a night. There’s no telephone line in the room. I don’t need it, anyway. And there’s no TV either. TV is placed in the common room and lobby. Oh well, who needs a television set when there’s only one clear channel, right? And besides, why do I have to looks for TV, I went to the place to enjoy the beach!

From the hotel, it’s only a few meters walk down the hill to enjoy the white sandy beach of Salagdoong.

There’s also a restaurant cafe at the area that serves meals from breakfast until dinner. The food is nothing extraordinary. Nothing to rave about. There is also a swimming pool available for the kids and adults. A fee of PHP50 is charged to guests who will be using the pool. I did not try the pool as I always prefer the beach over the swimming pool. But the water looks so enticing. during our second day of stay in Agripino Hotel, Ihave seen some kids playing at the pool.

What I also like about the hotel accommodation is that road leading to the place is all covered with tall acacia trees. The whole 800 meters stretch from the main road down to the beach hotel is shaded. Perfect for afternoon stroll.

Aside from guest accommodations, the hotel also has facilities for seminars and conventions. That is why when we were there, I heard from one of the staff the the COMELEC is holding their training seminar there.

For inquiries or reservations, text them at: +63.918.7714714. when in the Philippines, remove +63 and replace it with 0. And since this is a government-owned facility, always asked for an official receipt when transacting business. They must issue the official Philippine Government Receipt, bearing the name Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) as the issuing agency.
