Maribago Bluewater Escapade Day 2
Posted by on March 17, 2010
Our second day in Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort started a bit early. Yup, 7AM is very early for me. But I didn’t mind since I am in a Beach Paradise.
We had our killer buffet breakfast. I like their bacon. And the fresh fruits! Breakfast buffet spread has a wide variety of foods to choose from, there’s tocino and longganisa for the Filipino breakfast, assorted cereals like oats, muesli, corn flakes. There’s also a wide assortment of bread and spreads like fruit jams, and cheese. Juice, coffee milk and tea is also available.
The breakfast is served daily at the Allegro Restaurant which is located at the poolside. Allegro Restaurant offers internadtional cuisine aside from their buffet spread. The whole restaurant is also WiFi-enabled.
After breakfast, we then had had the Cebu Cultural Heritage Tour known as Pasiyo sa Kabilin or the Cebu Heritage Walk. (Please watch out for my separate blog post about the Pasiyo sa Kabilin)
The tour started at the Fuerza San Pedro, also known as Fort San Pedro. Among the sites that we got to visit during the heritage tour are:
- Plaza Sugbu
- Magellan’s Cross (I never fail to have a Sinulog prayer offered at the Cross everytime I am in Cebu)
- Basilica Minore del Santo Nino.
- Santo Nino Museum
- Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral
- Cathedral Museum of Cebu
- Plaza Hamabar
- Calle Colon
- Plaza Parian
- Yap-San Diego Ancestral House
- Casa Gorordo
- The Cebu Jesuit House
Our City Tour ended with hearty lunch at CNT Lechon. I was so happy to have a taste of Cebu Lechon again! Before we actually arrived in Cebu, Mica and I already had an evil plan of sneaking out of the resort just to experience CNT Lechon again. Ahehe Good thing we have a lechon lunch so we no longer have to get out of the Beach Resort.
While having lunch I saw a jeepney with the route “Guadalupe – Taboan”. Dried fish, danggit, dried squid, dried mangos, otap and rosquillos all came rushing into my mind. Taboan Market!
So after our high-cholesterol but super tasty lunch, we headed to the mecca of Cebuano Pasalubong: The Taboan Market.
Everyone had a fun time buying danggit, and other pasalubong items. I bought 1 Kilo of dried mangoes. (read: One Kilo). I was supposed to buy chicharon, but I opted not to buy since I know we’ll be passing by the Heritage Town of Carcar, which is the home of Cebu’s finest chicharon or deep fried pork rind.
After the pasalubong shopping,we all went back to Maribago Bluewater beach Resort for a quick rest.
During the night, we all went to The Cove Seafood Restaurant which is also located inside the Beach Resort. Dinner was oh-so-yummy. The stone fish, crab, oysters, and scallops are all good.
Just after we finished our dinner, Sinjin and Doy arrived to have some chitchat with us.

Ayun! Ang saya saya since Sinj and I met again. The last time we met was during the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Dakbayan 2010 and the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2010.
Sinj and Doy didn’t stay long at the resort
Right after they left, Mica and I had our spa session right in our rooms. The one hour massage we had is offered by Amuma Spa. It was so relaxing and soothing. I love the idea of placing heated banana leaves wth coconut oil on your back. Para syang stress absorber! It was so relaxing, that I actually fell asleep during the massage session. The spa therapist had to wake me up just to inform me that the service is over already.
But just minutes after we had our massage, Mica and I decided to get out of our room and check our mailbox and Facebook. Wifi access is available in Amuma Spa and Allegro restaurant. They purposely didn’t enable Wifi in rooms so that guests would only rest in rooms and not work or spend hours over the Internet.
We capped our night at around 1:30AM with Clubhouse Sandwich and Coke Zero. Ang sarap ng Sandwich!
