Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort adventure
Posted by on March 19, 2010
Last March 13, we were supposed to wake up early to fully enjoy the resort’s facilities. But most of us woke up very late. At around 8AM we had out buffet breakfast by the beach. Nothing can beat great tasting bacon, sweet pineapple, and the ham, egg and mushroom omelet on the beach front.
Right after breakfast, we got to try the kayak on the lagoon. It was quite easy since there are no waves to counter, and paddling the kayak is really smooth.
Later, we finally got the chance to try the glass bottom boat. I was so excited to actually try it since we’ll be able to see the beauty of the underwater world without even getting wet. Just a few minutes after our boat left the sand bar, beautiful corals were already spotted. The large walls and barriers were all full of colorful corals and beautiful fishes.
I am so amazed at its beauty. Puro WOW! na lang ang nasasabi ko! the place is so blessed with everything beautiful.
After the glass bottom boat ride, I tried tried to snorkel the area. Ang saya! You would really enjoy snorkeling in Sumilon Island!
The 24 hectare island paradise is known for its sandbar that keeps on changing shapes and shifting locations around the island. The sand is so fine and white. It’s doesn’t really get hot during the mid day.
The Sumilon Bluewater island resort also has an infinity pool for those who prefer to take a dip in pool.
There’s also a dive shop at the island fully equipped with snorkeling and diving equipments, paddle boats, windsurfing boards, and kayaks.
The Island Pavilion houses the resort restaurant offers a delectable fare of local and international cuisine. Also located in the Pavilion are the reception desk, library, and gift shop.
To reach Sumilon Island, you may either take a Manila flight that’s bound for Cebu or Dumaguete. The fastest way is via Dumaguete, since Sumilon island is very near Dumaguete. Traveling to the island from Cebu City is three hours long, but the route leading to Oslob is very scenic.
From Dumaguete City, Sumilon Bluewater can arrange pumpboats to bring guests directlyto the island resort. If weather conditions do not allow travel via pumpboat, then a ferry ride from Dumaguete to the port of Bato, Osloband transportation to the resort can be set up.
