Archive for March, 2010
A few weeks ago, me and Mel met up in Ayala to talk about a possible website project that he wanted to do with me. During the meeting, summer plans came up. He mentioned that he wanted to check out Camotes Island in Cebu Philippines because his friends have been raving about it. I have never been there myself so I said that I would totally go if he knows how to get there and if we could afford it.
The next day, I told Gian and Harry about our plans and luckily they both liked the idea. (See, we needed more people to cut travel and accommodation costs) And so, it was set. We leave for Camotes on February 27, Saturday, and head back to the city on February 28, Sunday. Flawless plan.

Cebu’s little piece of heaven – Camotes
The province of Cebu Philippines is so blessed with pretty everything. From its pristine beaches, bustling commercial districts as well as its preserved heritage sites. And this Holy Week 2010, one of the best places to do the Visita Iglesia is in Southern Cebu.

Born during the summer of love, hippies rejoice as JanSport brings back its well-remembered classics
The year was 1967, the Summer of Love. The Summer three Seattle college grads were looking to avoid the confines of nine-to-five jobs: Skip, an outdoor enthusiast; Murray, an engineer; and Jan, a seamstress. Murray had won an award for an aluminum frame pack design and told Jan if she created a pack that sold, he’d marry her and name the company after her. She did. It did. And JanSport was born.

Here are some more photos from the recently concluded Pintados de Pasi Festival in Passi City in Iloilo Philippines. Pintados de Pasi is a festival celebrating the glorious past of the Pasinhon, the fiesta revolves around the story of how the Tattooed men of Passi live in this part of the island. Stories would tell that the more tattoo a person has, the more he is respected in the society. More than just an art form, this skin art has become a status symbol in the past.
