Aliwan Fiesta 2010 is already over. Most contingents are already back in their respective provinces, while some still have some festival guesting in other cities. Aliwan Fiesta has consistently been showcasing the best of Filipino artistry, especially in the field of dance and music.

It has also showcased how diverse our culture is. The culture of the tribes in the Cordillera region may be different from those of the Tagalogs, as well as from the Subanon group in Zamboanga. Yet these diversity adds more color to our cultural tapestry as a Filipino. We may have different practices and beliefs yet, we are all one and the same.

Last weekend more than 5,000 locals artists, musicians, dancers, as well as beauty queens gathered in Manila to showcase the best of every province in an event known to be the grandest of all Philippine Fiestas.
The Aliwan Fiesta, now on its eighth year, has once again never failed to wow the thousands of crowd who lined the streets from the Mall ohttp://www.byahilo.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpf Asia leading to the Aliw Theater in CCP Complex for an afternoon for vibrant colors and loud drumbeats.

16 festivals performed to the delight of the cheering crowd. I myself is amazed in all the performances. My personal favorites last Saturday were Iloilo’s Dinagyang Festival, Tanauan Leyte’s Pasaka Festival, Halamang Dilaw Festival of Marilao Bulacan and the Lapay Bantigue of Masbate City.

It was really really hot last Saturday, but I have prepared myself for this grueling day. I ate bananas before leaving the house. Heavy lunched was also served. I
also have to bring 2 bottles of Gatorade to replenish electrolytes. I am always prone to cramps during long walks especially on hot days.

The walk from MOA to CCP is approximately 3.8 kilometers, under the scorching heat of the summer sun.
I went to the Mall of Asia at 12 noon, and went home from Aliw Theater at 2AM. OA ang pagod. But super enjoyed every moment of it.
