May 3 a Holiday, as declared by Malacanang Palace

In a news bulletin earlier today, Malacanang Palace has issued a statement declaring May 3 a holiday, in lieu of the May 1 Labor Day.

This bring to a total of 2 long weekends for the month of May. On May 10, offices will also be closed as the entire nation goes to polling places to elect the next Phillippine President.

Cebu Pacific launches 599 Promo Seat Sale!

The low cost carrier Cebu Pacific is launching another round of promo fares for every travelers! The budget airline encourages air over bus travel with P599 seat sale.

The airline that flies one out of every two domestic passengers, Cebu Pacific (CEB), announces a P599 seat sale for flights that service traditional bus routes. This is from April 27-29, 2010, for travel from July 1 to September 30, 2010.

For the ‘Go Lite’ seat sale fare of P599, passengers can avail of seats on Manila flights to Laoag, Legazpi, Tuguegarao, Cauayan, Naga and San Jose, and on Davao flights to Cagayan de Oro.

“CEB encourages guests to experience the convenience of air travel since it cuts travel time significantly. With our trademark low fares, guests don’t have to spend up to 10 hours just to get to a destination. Now, they can spend more quality time exploring, visiting family and friends, and doing business,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

The airline also offers a select international seat sale for the same seat sale and travel period. For P999, passengers can go from Clark to Macau or from Manila to Taipei. Meanwhile, Manila-Macau and Manila-Ho Chi Minh seats are up for grabs for the ‘Go Lite’ seat sale fare of P1,499.

Those with check-in luggage will just add P100 upon booking.

“Travelers can book via ticketing offices, reservation hotlines (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888, or website (www.cebupacificair.com). If guests want to book online but don’t have a credit card, they can choose the payment center option and pay via CEB partner banks,” Iyog added.

CEB is the number one domestic carrier in the Philippines. It has an on-time performance of 91.8% for the 1st quarter of 2010, and operates other bus and ferry routes such as Cebu-Dipolog, Cebu-Dumaguete, Cebu-Iloilo, Cebu-Bacolod, Cebu-Ozamiz, Cebu-Pagadian, Davao-Zamboanga and Davao-Iloilo.
