Bacolod Masskara Festival 2010 Schedule!

Masskara Festival 2010, known to be the Philippines’ most colorful streetdance festival will once again be held this coming October in Bacolod City.
The festival is known for its dancers wearing very colorful costumes and smiling masks dancing to the Latin beat. These dancers would then sashay around the city center during the 2-day streetdance competition.
Here’s the Official Schedule of this year’s Masskara 2010 Festival:
October 1 – Festival Opening, Public Plaza & SM Masskara Village
October 9 – Masskara Queen, University of St. La Salle
October 15-16 Electric Masskara , Festival Tourism Strip
October 16 – Masskara Streetdance competition Schools Category
October 17 – Masskara Streetdance Competition Barangay category
October 18 – Countdown to Charter Day Street Party , New Government Center
October 19 – Bacolod City’ s 73rd Charter Day Anniversary
For those who plans to visit Bacolod, during this time, I highly suggest that you book your plane tickets and hotels in Bacolod now!

I am very very excited to be back in my dear home town known as the City of Smiles! Don Fitz, Sinjin, and I have already booked ourselves a PHP700 promo fare tickets for the Masskara Festival! I will be arriving on the 14th just in tme for the dress rehearsals!

Biggie, parade route every year is alsmost the same.. but yup.. Ill post a map here soon.
but normally it would start at the junction of araneta-lizares streets. and wind up at the public plaza.
unless, they would change the route this year

the mask from th second pic (green costume with christmas balls) weighs 2.25 kilos.
the mask from the first pic i guess much heavier since it is much bigger. the group on the first pic won the “Best in Mask ” special award
