Alubihod Beach, Guimaras
Posted by on June 2, 2010
Alubihod Beach is a popular weekend destinations in Nueva Valencia Guimaras, Philippines. Alubihod boasts of white powdery sand, and clear waters. Locals would often troop in resorts lined up along this area.
I first discovered Alubihod around 2002 when Audrey and some friends all went to Guimaras. It was an uncharted place for all of us, back then. It was our first time to set foot in Guimaras. and we all went there without even a map, or even the slightest idea of where to go.
Upon arrival in Jordan Wharf, we just asked the jeepney driver that we wanted to go to a white sandy beach that’s near the wharf. The driver pointed us to Alubihod beach.
since our discovery of the place, I have been to Alubihod countless times and most of the time, I stay in Raymen’s Beach Resort, one of the top resorts in the area.
Normally I would do an island hopping tour in neighboring islands and snorkel at the colorful coral gardens.
When I first discovered Alubihod, there were only a few Pinoys who go to the place, mostly locals. But when I last went to the place, I was surprised that the area now has Tagalog-speaking and Korean guests. Oh well, they have already discovered the beach in this side of the planet.
To go to Alubihod, fly to Iloilo City, then proceed to Ortiz port. Take a pumpboat ride bound for Jordan Guimaras. Pumpboat fare is PHP15. From Jordan take a jeepney ride bound for CROSSING ALUBIHOD. ride the jeepneys that are marked NUEVA VALENCIA. From Crossing Alubihod, take a tricycle going to Alubihod itself.
To make reservations at Raymen’s Beach Resort, please call or text 0918 520 7271, or call (033) 396 9252 or 396 0383.
