Here are some more photos from the recently concluded Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival 2010 held in Davao City Philippines. Kadayawan Festival is considred to be the biggest fiesta celebration in Mindanao where the 10 ethnic group (locally known as lumad) would go to the city to celebrate their thanksgiving to the Supreme Being for bountiful harvest.
During the celebration of Kadayawan sa Davao, it is also during this time when the city’s most popular fruit, the Durian, is on its peak season. Aside from durian other tropical fruits are also in season like mangosteen and lanzones.
The blooming of Davao City’s most popular orchid, Waling waling, is also a cause for celebration.
The festival’s week-long celebration has two main highlights: the Indak Indak sa Kadalanan or the streetdancing competition, and the Pamulak Kadayawan or the floral float parade.

During the two-day highlight, thousands show up at the streets of Davao City to witness the streetdancing of the ethnic groups, as well as the contingents from the nearby provinces, and the parade of over thirty floats all dressed up with fresh flowers.
This year Davao City celebrated the Silver Anniversary of the Kadayawan sa Davao 2010. Many thanks to Sir Bong Aportadera for providing us with the ID during the Kadayawan. Daghang Salamat ug Madayaw Dabaw!
