Some tips to improve the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2011
Posted by on August 29, 2010
The Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2010 was recently held in Mandaue City Cebu Philippines. The festival is just on its third year, but it has grown by leaps and bounds. It has improved tremendously. But despite its improvements, there are still some things that need to be done to improve the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo. I won’t be surprised if after 10 years, Pasirgarbo will become one of the top provincial festivals of the country.
1. Split the Finale Presentation into two days – Sure, Its fun to see over thirty festivals perform in just one event. But staying until past midnight is a different thing. During the recent Pasigarbo, the Finale performances started promptly at 7PM, but the program was only halfway through at 9:30PM + 1 hour break. So we opted not to finish the show. Too bad, a lot of the groups that won were from the second batch. I heard the program ended at 2AM. It’s not fun anymore.
2. Do some more internal promotions. – I am based in Sta. Rosa Laguna, but I only learned of the Pasigarbo schedule because I called the Provincial Tourism Office. A lot were actually surprised to know that there’s a streetdance competition in Mandaue scheduled last August 14. Also, I did not see lots ofbanners/streamers announcing the event. After all, Pasigarbo is part of the Province of Cebu’s Anniversary Celebration.
3. I love how organized it is at the CICC grounds. Thousands of crowd showed up for the Finale Performance. Enough seats were provided for the crowd. The judges were placed at the back, well elevated to see the whole performance, and enough space for the media and photographers in front.
4. There’s not enough info about the festival in the Internet. Every year, I have to email/call the Office of the Governor and the Provincial Tourism Office just to get the schedule since no available details are available on the Internet. Maybe you can promote this next year throguh the Internet. Sayang.. kulang pa sa promotion
I hope to be back in next year’s Pasigarbo sa Sugbo. I would love to see this event grow more, and transform into one of the biggest Provincial Fiestas in the Philippines.

need to intensify promotion for this one of the best Philippine Festivals
