During our final day in Cebu Philippines, Fitz, Don, and I visited the Mactan Shrine. The shrine which is located in Punta Engano, Lapu Lapu City was built as tribute to the heroism of the local chieftain, Lapu Lapu.
The shrine is built inside a small park. A statue of Lapu Lapu was built near the shoreline, facing the sea. A few meters away is an obelisk built in honor of the Philippine Discoverer Ferdinand Magellan.

Two weeks ago, I was in Cebu to cover the 3rd Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival in Mandaue City, Cebu Philippines. A day later I was invited to do a radio guesting in DYAB’s weekly Radio Show, “Sugbuanon Na Ni!”
The Weekly Sunday Show, aired at 4-6PM is hosted by Ahmed Cuizon and Ka Bino Guerrero.

Working in a call center is very financially rewarding. I myself used to be a Tech Support Agent a few years before I shifted to become full time travel blogger. During those times, I was able to save a few penny for the plane tickets for my travel. And yes, during those times, airline seat sales weren’t common yet. The pay, benefits and bonuses are always above par. Aside from the financial benefits, It was also in the call center where I got to meet some of the nicest people whom I call as friends. I am no longer part of the contact center industry but I still go back to my former office to have coffee with friends who are still working there. Working in a call center is always a team effort. It’s like a basketball game. It’s not about me, or you. It’s always about us.
Every team member is doing his/her best to meet the standards. And when weekly standards are met, it means more bonuses and perks for all of us!
The 25th staging of the kadayawan sa Davao Festival is a huge success. There’s just a lot of tourists having a great time in Davao. Many also came from nearby provinces of Mindanao to experience the fiesta. This year’s Kadayawan is just my second time, but let me share you some of my thoughts on this year’s festival to improve the Kadayawan Festival 2011.
