Gardens of Malasag, for the second time around

Gardens of Malasag is one of the many tourist attractions that Cagayan de Oro City has to offer. Although Cagayan de Oro is known for its whitewater rafting, it is also known for its eco village located in the slopes of Cugman Watershed.
This is my second time to visit the Gardens of Malasag. But I really enjoyed my visit this time. I get to appreciate the colorful flowers and the lush greens.
Visiting th Eco Park is a bit tricky, as there are no public transport that goes directly to Malasag. So what we did during our trip was take a cab that would bring us there. But before we stepped out of the cab, I asked the driver to wait for us for an hour to bring us back to LimketKai Center, which he agreed.
So off we went, explored every nook and cranny of the eco village. I love the echinacea, the roses, the marigolds. there were just a lot of trees in the area which provides shade when touring the whole place.
During our visit the Gardens of Malasag is undergoing a facelift. Improvements here and there, which is very good. More accommodations are constructed for overnight facillities.
Getting to the center of the garden is as easy asa breeze, but its a different story when you need return to the entrance gate. Haggard ang pabalik, since it’s on a slope!
Always bring a bottled water just to keep yourself hydrated. Enjoy the park, but remember the rule of the thumb: Don’t pick the flowers. If you really wanted to get a seed, ask the caretakers, like what I did. There’s no harm in asking. I did get seed from two flowers, one is fuschia-colored zinnia and another one from an unknown flower. Both of them are now growing well in my seed beds.
Another tip, since you are already at the Gardens of Malasag, why not drop by at the Mapawa Nature Park? It’s just located a few meters away from Malasag. It was already 5PM and the sun is quickly going down so we decided not to visit Mapawa. Hopefully I can visit it againon Tuesday, as I will be flying to Northern Mindanao again this Sunday.
