Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point: THE Santorini of the Philippines!

I have heard a lot of good things about Thunderbird Resorts in Poro Point San Fernando La Union before, but it was only last October 11-13 that I finally got to experience what many call the Santorini of the Philippines.

Thunderbird Resports Poro Point La Union is known ofr its Mediterranean/Santorini inspired architectural design.The blue and white color motiff evokes a feeling of coolness or freshness. The resort sits on a vast expanse of land located right inside the Poro Point Freeport Area, i’s just 5 minutes away from the San Fernando Airport, and is only an hour away from the Summer Capital, Baguio.

Located right in the vast expanse of property is the resort hotel, the Fiesta Casino, a restaurant, and golf course, an infinity pool and a lot more. The resort has a breathtaking view of the beach and the fiery sunset.

When we visited the Thunderbirds Resort last week, we got to tour around the property and I am very impressed with the development. Everything is Santorini-themed! Looking at the buildings you would never think that you are in the Philippines. Ang ganda talaga!

During our first day, we had our merienda and dinner at the Fiesta Casino restaurant. It is located right beside the casino, you can actually see the people there playing baccarat or slot machine.

During our second day, we got to check out the other parts of the resort, like the golf course, the beach front, and their new residential project, The Point Residences. Later that night, we attended the Grand Launch of the The Point Residences attended by several VIPs including the Governor of La Union and the Mayor of San Fernando City.

On our last day, some of our media friends went for a swim at the beach. too bad I wasn’t able to take a dip because I had some work things to finish.

After lunch we went back to Fiesta Casino and experience playing Baccarat. It was just a fun play with no real bets. I wonder if we will still enjoy it that much if we get to bet with real money. heheh At the end of the game, I lost all the chips I had. Di talaga ako pwede sa casino!

All in all the Thunderbird Resorts stay is a great experience. It is a perfect place to escape the noise of the Metropolis. Great for long weekend vacations with friends or loved ones.
