Cebu Pacific Air launches web check in for International flights!

The Philippines number one airline, Cebu Pacific Air has just launched another service that would cut the check in process time.

Low fare leader Cebu Pacific (CEB) will start its web check-in services tomorrow, for all international flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

The airline that brought low fare air travel, e-ticketing and ‘Go Lite’ product to the Philippines is now the first Philippine carrier to offer web check-in services to its guests. Web check-in allows passengers to check-in for their flight via the internet, select seats, and print boarding passes.

To check-in via the web, guests have to go to www.cebupacificair.com and click on the “Manage Booking” icon.

After retrieving and reviewing the booking, they have to select and pay for their seats, if they have not made an online seat selection upon their booking. This will already be their seat for the flight. Seats on the exit rows are P200, and seats on other rows are P100. After answering security questions, they can then print their boarding passes.

On the day of the flight, guests will have to fall in line at any of the two web check-in counters in Terminal 3. This is to verify the travel documents of guests, and to check-in luggage.

“From the usual 5-7 minutes per passenger in a regular check-in counter, those in line at the web check-in counter take only 1-3 minutes, depending on whether they have check-in luggage,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

“This is very beneficial for guests who want more control and convenience when traveling. Tomorrow, we start Phase I of our web check-in services, which is only for international flights from Manila. Phase II will include our domestic flights from Manila, and is scheduled to be launched in the last quarter of 2010,” she added.

Guests can avail of the web check-in service from 48 hours to four hours before the flight. It is available only for bookings made through the following channels: CEB’s reservation hotlines (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888, website www.cebupacificair.com and organic CEB ticketing offices.

“This service will not be available for guests needing special assistance like groups of 10 or more, expectant mothers, unaccompanied minors, and guests with infants, among others. Our main priority will always be our passengers’ safety,” Iyog added.

CEB operates the youngest aircraft fleet in the country to 33 domestic and 16 international destinations, and will take delivery of three brand new A320 aircraft in the last quarter of 2010.
