Back in Laguna

Just got back home in Laguna after a 6-day trip to Bacolod with my sister and my nephew. Initially I booked a trip to the City of Smiles to cover the annual Pintaflores Festival. Many thanks to Cebu Pacific Air seat sale, I was able to get promo fare for my sister, my three year old nephew, and yaya.
It was a fun trip! Everyday we go out and have lunch and dinner with friends and family members. Hopefully we can go back to Bacolod again soon for a quick vacation.
But our happy vacation ended in a negative note when we encountered a horrific incident at the Bacolod Silay Airport.
I was queueing for our flight check in. There were some 5 people in front of me at that time when, all of a sudden a passenger, sitting on a bench began to lose control of himself and started to seizure. The man almost fell of the bench due to his condition. I do not know if the guy is epileptic or has other ailments, what is clear is, mangingisay sya sa airport, manunutla.
There was no medical personnel present to attend to his condition. A few seconds later, he seemed to have regained control and has stopped shaking. I overheard the guard who approached him saying that he’ll pull out his checked in bags and cancel his flight because he’s not feeling well.
At this time, there should have already been a medical personnel who would attend to his needs. But lo and behold.there was none.
A few moments later, I was already at the check in counter when he started shaking again. This time the shaking is much stronger, and the passenger has already lost his bladder control, he peed on his pants while having seizures.
Wala pa ring dumarating na doctor at nurse. The only airport personnel who was there was the security guard, who I believe is not competent enough to attend to this kind of situation.
Up until I finished checking in our bags, there was no sign of any presence of a nurse or doctor at the airport. Kawawa lang ang pasahero.
When we got at the second floor of the airport terminal for the final check in, I discovered there was a clinic beside the Terminal Fee counter. the lights were on, but no one was inside.
I overheard a staff saying, “nagpatawag na ng ambulance”. I just said, Huh? you dont have any medical personnel here and you still have to wait for the ambulance? It took me around 10-15 minutes to finish the check in since it was done manually during that time as all systems were offline.
I hope nothing serious happed to the passenger.
And I just hope that the Bacolod silay Airprt Staff should get its act together. Para san ang clinic kung wala namang nurse at doctor. Please do not tell me that becuase its only 5AM so there was no med staff on duty. There MUST be a medical staff on duty as long as there are scheduled flights, isn’t it?
Oh well, anyway I will be flying out of manila again this Saturday for another round of blogging talkin GenSan, and for the very first time, I will be watching Pacquiao’s boxing match right in his home turf! Many thanks to Cebu Pacific for the complimentary ticket to General Santos City!
