4D/3N of Knockout Adventure in General Santos City
Posted by on November 17, 2010
Last Saturday, November 13, 2010 I flew to General Santos City or more popularly known as GenSan for a weekend of knockout adeventure, shopping an fun!
I arrived at around 3PM via Cebu Pacific Air. Upon arrival, I was fetched by Avel Manansala. We then drove to their house for a short blogging talk with some Davao and SOCCKSARGEN bloggers.

After the talk, we then had dinner at Mt. Sabrina in Tambler Gensan. Kaloka ang Foods! Tuna dito, tuna doon! Food is superb. I love the sashimi and the tuna kinilaw!
After dinner we went to the KCC Mall to watch the concert of the Philippines’ Concert King Martin Nievera. Martin really knows how to entertain the crowd. It was really a fun night!
DAY 2: KNOCKOUT ADVENTURE
Our second day started early as the gang went to Lagao Gym at around 9AM to watch the boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. As we all know General Santos city is always known to be the home of the 8-time world boxing champ. and watching his latest match right in his home turf really really made me excited.
Kaloka ang boxing match, everyone was at their feet cheering for the Pinoy hero. Watching the boxing in GenSan is a new experience for me. I can feel how excited the Generals seeing their local hero achieve another record breaking feat.
After the boxing match, we then headed to the Ocean Cave in Sun City Suites for out late lunch. Panalo ang lunch! Great tasting food, with unlimited rice and bottomless iced tea for only PHP99! Swak sa budget!
After lunch we then went to Lemlunay Resort in Maasim Sarangani. Lemlunay is around 40 minutes drive from General Santos City. the 20 of us Davao and SOX bloggers stayed here for a night.
Orman, ang sarap ng food! lalo na ang Cassava Cake! And the Tuna lumpia from Piyesta KTV and Bar, di ba Donna?
Ang saya sya! It’s actually my first time to be with the SOX and Davao bloggers in an out of town trip. I really had so much fun.
DAY 3 Shopping, food and More…
After breakfast, I just took a dip at the resort’s infinity pool and did some snorkelling. We left Lemlunay Resort at around 11AM then proceeded to Piyesta KTV and Resto Bar in robinson’s Place Gensan for our lunch. As usual, food is great! Lamon kung lamon.
It’s one of the best things I love in Gensan, foods are superbly delicious with an unbeliebably cheap price tag. and everything is fresh too, sionce most of the catch are from Sarangani Bay.
After lunch, Ria and I checked in at the CityFront Lodge along Pioneer Avenue for a quick siesta. At 4PM, I left the lodge and headed to Gaisano while Ria and Donna went shopping spree (read:ukay ukay). I really wanted to go with them but I had some important things to do.
I went to Gaisano to buy some Tinalak Fabric, some Tboli brass bells and a few pasalubong items. But everything failed. The local shop in Gaisano had no Tnalak available, and the bells they sell have a PHP4 price tag. It’s going to be a bit expensive if youll buy around 3000 pieces of those. Anyways, I resolved to go back to Lake Sebu by February to do more Tboli goodies shopping. In the end, I only got to buy Tboli bracelet made of beads with brass bells.
From there, I went to Blugre Coffee in Robinsons for a quick caffeine fix while waiting for my friend. But since he’ll be arriving late, I moved to Little Dubai together with Avel for our Kebab dinner. I love the Kebab of Little Dubai. It’s so juicy and is bursting with all the flavors!
Later that night, ria, Avel, donna, Emman, and Dimples, the owner of Little Dubai arrived. Syempre chismisan na naman!
From Little Dubai, we moved back to Piyesta for some cold drins and even more kwentuhan. But a few minutes later I had to excuse myself and moved to Blugre coffee again with my friend. Minsan lang naman kmi magkita, we we had our own kwentuhan there
Day 4. Shopping, shopping and more shopping.
Usually, the last day of my trip is just reserved for rest, and packing things. doing all the magic to fit all the stuff in one bag. But during my recent trip, Avel, Orman and I all headed to Pacific Seas Seafood Store for some pasalubong shopping.
Aba! when I went there, their Tuna panga (jaw) is pegged only at PHP100 per kilo! Tuna panga is perfect for ihaw or grill. Aside from the Tuna panga, I also bought tuna buntot (tail) which is perfect for sinigang, and tuna belly for grill too. I also bought several packs of tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi. KALOKA ANG SARAP!
Aside from these I also bought some other tuna products like tuna tocino, tapa, longganisa and embutido. I tried the longganisa earlier today and it’s good. healthy pa!
When I had my bags checked in. I almost exceeded my maximum baggage allowance of 15 kilos because of all the tuna I bought.

See who signed Pacific Seas’ walls?
