Where to eat in Cebu

Cebu has a lot to offer. With oh-so-many local restaurants as well as tourist spots in the area, you should know where to go especially if its your first time in the Queen City of the South.
Cebu may look intimidating especially for a first timer, but with the right planning, I guess it would be easy for you to experience the ins and outs of this city.

CNT Lechon – Cebu has always been known to be the home of the tastiest lechon. and where else to go in Cebu for this roasted pig is non other than the CNT Lechon. Although there are other Lechon brands now, but personally, I still love the flavors of CNT. And every time I am in Cebu I never fail to visit one of their branches.
Abuhan Pochero – It’s Cebu’s version of the Bulalo made popular by the Batanguenos. And hands-down the best pochero in Cebu can only be found at Abuhan. If I am not mistaken there are three (or four?) branches of Abuhan. Abuhan Dos, the branch which I always visit is open 24/7 perofect for late night or early morning arrival in Cebu.

Larsian – Larsian is a one big barbecue area located near the Fuente Osmena. This one unassuming place is a big hit among the locals (and even the Koreans!). There are several stall offering almost the same menu. You just have to chose where you’re confortable at. They usually offer barbecue chicken, pork, hotdogs, chorizo and a whole lot more. And to complete the whole Cebuano dining experience, order puso. It is a rice wrapped in coconut leaves.

Balamban Liempo – Probalby one of the tastiest limepos I have ever tried! The pork is stuffed with herbs and spices before it gets grilled. There’s one stall along Salinas Drive near the IT Park.

La Marea Coffee Shop and Desserts – I love the warm brownie cup of La Marea. I never fail to go to La Marea whenever I am at the IT park area. Last week I found myself making tambay there the whole afternoon, doing nothing but enjoying my sweet treat.

Casa Verde – I do not know when Casa Verde opened, but it was only recently that I discovered this place. Their back ribs is to-die-for. It is the restaurants best-seller and of coursea meal would never be complete without dessert. Casa Verde’s Death by Chocolate would complete the ensemble.

And to complete the whole Bargain Holiday experience in Cebu, never miss the Taboan Market for the best, and the freshest danggit and all other dried fishes! Tabo-an Market is a pasalubong shopper’s paradise. Here you can get your dried mangoes, Carcar Chicharon, Liloan Rosquillos and of course Danggit, Dried Squied, Fish Tapa, Fish Tocino and a lot lot more.

Now that the Sinulog Festival 2011 is fast approaching you need to plan as easrly as today, so that when January comes, you already know where to eat in Cebu
