Carcar, Talisay dominates Sinulog sa Kabataan – Lalawigan 2011

San Roque Elementary School of Talisay City and the DepEd Division of Carcar dominated the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2011 Streetdancing competition held earlier today. The Streetdancing started propmptly at 1PM from the Cebu Provincial Capitol passing through Jones Avenue before making a left to the Abellana Sports Stadium for the finale performance.

Talisay City won the Championship Trophy for the elementary Division while Carcar emerged as the champion for thje secondary level.

Other winners for the Elementary category were:

Best in Musicality – San Roque Elementary School – San Roque, talisay
Best in costume – Pajo Elementary School – Pajo Lapu Lapu City

5th Place – Basak Elementary School – Basak Mandaue City
4th Place – DepEd District of Cordova – Cordova Cebu
3rd Place- Kasanag Danawanon (Cambanay elementary School) – Danao City
2nd Place – Pajo Elementary School – Pajo Lapu Lapu City
Champion – San Roque Elementary School – San Roque, talisay City

The winners for the Secondary level are:

Best in Musicality – Tipolo National High School – Tipolo Mandaue City
Best in Costume – Sabang National High School – Sabang, Danao City

5th Place – Toledo National Vocational School – Toledo City
4th Place – Tipolo National High School – Tipolo Mandaue City
3rd Placce – Pooc National High School Talisay City Cebu
2nd Place – Sabang National High School – Sabang, Danao City

The Abellana sports Stadium was jumpacked this afternoon! I could say that this year’s Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan is much better than the ones last year. There were more people at the bleachers, more photographers taking photos, and the performances were also better.

And we’re just talking about The Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan here. Traditionally the excitement meter is always higher during the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Dakbayan compared to Lalawigan. But seeing how the Lalawigan fared today, I am expecting a loud roar among the crowd tomorrow, more shutterbugs to snap photos and the dances, at its finest!

I am so excited to witness the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Dakbayan tomorrow as Abellana National high School will defend their crown as the Secondary Division Champion. The group emerged as First runner up in the Sinulog Based Category of the Sinulog Festival Grand Streetdance Parade last year.
