More BacoLaoDiat 2011 Photos

Here are some more photos from the recently concluded BacoLaoDiat Festival held in Bacolod. BacoLaoDiat is a combination of two words, Bacolod and the Fookien words Lao Diat, meaning celebration. BacoLaoDiat is Bacolods way of celebrating the Chinese New Year with a bang!
This year’s edition is the biggest in terms of attendance since it was established six yeas ago. This year, I also decided to sponsor the participation of Brgy 17 in the Chinese Lantern Streetdance Competition. Its the first time that the group joined the BacoLaoDiat. Our group presented a pretty good performance but I wasnt really expecting to win, after seeing other groups performances. The group’s performance last Saturday was a great experience for us. It has taught us a lot of things of what to expect and do for the next year’s BacoLaoDiat 2012.
The winners were all deserving. I have no issues with it. I have a lot of friends from the champion group WSWG which is choreographed by Panoy Cabalcar, whom I also personally know.
Hopefully we can still join the BacoLaoDiat next year, as we join the whole Chinoy community in celebating the Chinese New Year!
