The Dinagyang Festival on the other hand will represented by Tribu Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School. I hope more festivals will join in this years competition. When I was in Pintados Kasadyaan festival in Tacloban several MBC officials were also present to formally invite the winner of the festival. Pintados Kasadyaan 2010 winner is the Buyogan Festival of Abuyog Leyte.

great site! i found the answer here. my friend from iloilo kept on asking me about the sched of aliwan 2011. he can’t wait to witness this event since 2 competing teams that emerged champions in iloilo’s grand festivals will showcase their best.

    go for gold, Iloilo!

i hope Masskara festival will be enjoyed by spectators. i’m from bacolod by the way.

A Cebuano contingent is coming back. And surely, we will put up a good competition. Another thing, LUmad Basakanon will not be representing Cebu this year. So, watch out! Cebu is back on the track again.

(I’m sure the aforementioned contingent will land on the top3. No rumors yet as to which festival Cebu Province’s delegation will be. But Sinulog is coming back with a new representative. And they’re damn good.)

  4. Enrico Dee says:

^^ i know sino ipapapdala ng Cebu Sinulog, as mentioned by MBC. but i dont think I can reveal it today. im still waiting for them to give me the go signal to publish the list of contingents.

Truly a festival! The Filipinos are truly creative and we have such a rich culture to preserve. Thank you for sharing these pictures

  6. rod says:

Ang Dapat nyong eh, watch out ang Dinagyang Festival ng Iloilo ,kahit hindi pa ang lumad yong paulit ulit na performances na naging champion for 3 times na lahat inulit for 3 years pati costumes. HHmmmp? But for us we are not ilonggo but we believed sa mga talents ng ilonggo’s. Go Go Go Dinagyang Festival pa rin kami Dinagyang festival is always and real worth to become a champion and the Best Festival of the Philippines, very skillfull, difficult dance steps, unique, pati music imbento talaga at bago, innovations at excellent ang choreo totoong World-Class at taon taon garantisadong bago ang Caliber ng performances

  7. Niel says:

  9. Critic says:

To those who always insist that fast choreography and perfect execution is all that is to a so-called “WONDERFUL” performance, I say “HELL NO!!”

Total production means exquisite costumes and very good props. Choreography is not all that is to a good dance production. Sorry to those who cannot catch up to the upgrading of the times, but I say that you must upgrade too.

“Pag-competition, hindi lang yan dance… Ang PRODUCTION DESIGN, COSTUMES, PROPS, and SURPISES help a lot in the TOTAL PACKAGE of the presentation.”

-quoted from Victor Cuenco, award-winning choreographer

  10. Hilda says:

@ Critic, Alam ko rin na included ang props and costumes sa total production pero hindi siya main na basihan kagaya ng more of props nalang talaga at ang mga steping at sayaw ay wala at very limited puro lang takbohan ang street dancing ng productions, mangingibabaw parin ang magandang choreo at skillful performances as a whole basis. All of the props ang costumes and surpises are all enhancement to the presentation and it will not render a high percentage to the total creteria kahit saan ka pumunta sa buong mundo ang laman at ang skillfull performance always garnered the eyes and a huge percentage for the whole production.

  11. Jenny says:

    Hi Byahilo,
1 quick question pls, as u r d event expert. If planning to shoot, do we need to secure ID? I heard me designated area Lang daw mga photographers? If ever kc, this is my 1st time. I’m just a hobbyist

    Ty
    Jenny

  12. Enrico Dee says:

    hi jenny,

no need to get ID. just go to the event with ur camera :)

  13. Arnie says:

  14. Bonbon Paz-Benitez says:

What time should we expect the parade on Saturday?

  15. roger says:

I HOPE NA WALA NG RECYCLE OR MGA REPEAT PERFORMANCES NA NAPAKITA OR NA PERFORM NA NILA LAST YEARS ANG MAULIT ULIT SA ALIWAN . kAGAYA NG GINAWA NG LUMAD BASAKANON NG SINULOG TAPOS CHAMPION DIN EVERY YEAR TAPOS NAGING HALL OF FAME HA HA HA HA RAW. HAY NAKAKATAWA KASI PAG NAULIT ANG MGA GANITO BARAT NA BARAT NA TALAGA ANG ALIWAN COMPETITION AT WALA NG STANDARD TALAGA. AT KAGAYA DIN NANALO SILA NGAYON TAPOS NAGPAHINGA SILA TAPOS SUMALI ULIT PARA HINDI MAHALAT NA INULIT LANG NILA ANG TOTAL PERFORMANCES NILA LAST YEARS KAILANGAN DIS-QUALIFIED KAAGAD SILA AT TALO NA AT MAGALING PA SILA O HINDI MAGALING NASTA ANG CRITERIA BAGO ANG PERFORMANCES.
