Iloilo-Bound for Paraw Regatta 2011
Posted by on February 17, 2011
I currently blogging at the Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Im bound for Iloilo today via Cebu Pacific 5J 455.
I really don’t have any itinerary for today. But later tonight, I will be at the Freedom Grandstand to sit as one of the members of the boad of Judges for this year’s Sinamba sa Paraw Regatta.
Sinamba may sound like Samba, but is actually a combination of two
Hiligaynon words: “Sinaut” or dancing, and “Amba” or singing”. So technically, Sinamba sa paraw Regatta is all about singing and dancing to the samba music.
The streetdance competition will start at 8PM tonight. The showdown at the Freedom Grandstand is just a preliminary contest. The groups will be showcasing their finale samba routine this coming Sunday morning at the Villa Beach.
Im so excited to be back in Iloilo City! I can’t wait to see the performances tonight. I do not know how many groups will be performing. I expect nothing but topnotch performances from the various schools wholl be sashaying to the sambamusic tonight.
See you all in Iloilo! Hala Bira Iloilo!

Amazing! Good costumes!
