Capiz Shells Philippines
Posted by on March 28, 2011
A few weeks ago, I was in Cebu City to scout for materials that I can use for our dancers. Even before I went to Cebu, Capiz Shells was one of the hot items on my list. I tried to search the Internet where to get supply and Google Search Results pointed me to the nearby town of Minglanilla, a few kilometers south of Cebu.
So a few hours upon arrival, my friend BJ, Angeli, Vernon and I met at the Minglanilla Town Plaza and took another jeepney ride towards Tungkop where the Capiz Shells Philippines is located.
Knowing that Capiz Shells Philippines is an exporter of capiz-shell based products, I expect nothing but topnotch quality goods in their showroom.
Upon arrival, I got so ecstatic to see different products made of Capiz. From Chandeliers, Wind Chimes, Curtains, Candle Holders, and even Sofa!
Capiz is a really versatile material. It can be made into all sorts of product. The possibilities are endless.
After checking out the various products, I ordered a few thousand pieces of plain white polished Capiz Shells for our groups costume. Capiz Shells gives a nice translucent look perfect for our dancers’ vest.
Di ako nagkamali! after the Capiz Shells were sewn into our dancer’s costume. maganda na sya and the noise! Agaw eksena! Our costumes had TBoli bells and Capiz Shells, thats why it is just so noisy and a head turner during the streetdance competition last March 21 in Victorias City.
Check out our group’s dress rehearsals and see how the Capiz shells, together with the TBoli Bells created so much noise
Apologies for the poor lighting.
When I return to Cebu this May, I will go back to Minglanilla to buy more Capiz products for my room like curtains and wind chimes.
Our Group’s Costume. We finished First Runner Up, as well as bagging the Best in Costume and Best in Headress Awards.
