Manapla Puto

If there’s one product the town of Manapla in Negros Occidental has to be proud of, no doubt, it has to be the puto or rice cake.
Puto is usually made from ground rice, water and sugar. It is then steamed to perfection. Manapla puto is undoubtedly one of the finest in the Philippines.
In Manapla, there are two leading brands that sells the best puto. The Capulso and Barrido. Traditionally Manapla puto is wrapped in banana leaves. There are two varieties of puto that is popular in Manapla, the original plain, and the Cheese Puto.
Between the two, I always prefer the plain original puto. It is best paired with dinuguan. I love the fluffiness of the Manapla puto. It’s so soft, and the sweetness is just right.
Last Panaad sa Negros, I was able to buy a pack of Capulso Cheese Puto for our merienda. Yummeh.

Gosh, I miss real puto manapla! The stuff they sell here in Manila all taste fake. No one makes it like the Ilonggos do!
manapla puto is so yummeh! yan breakfast ko lagi sa bus pag bumabiyahe bcd-manapla or vv. pinaka favorite ko talaga ang Capulso na plain. kaya ko ubusin isang pack nun bwahahaha
