Aliwan Fiesta 2011 is just around the corner. A few day from now, contingents representing the various festivals from all over the country will start to arrive in Manila for a weekend of colors and artistry.

Last Monday, the annual Panaad sa Negros Festival was formally opened. The event is held every year at the Panaad Park ans Stadium.Present during the opening ceremonies is Former Senator and then DTI Secretary Mar Roxas.

I have never stayed in Bacolod for more than a week since I left the City of Smiles for good in 2003. But recently, I had the chance to go back to my home province and stay for 2 weeks in Victorias City and another 2 weeks in Manapla. The preparations we had for the Kadalag-an Festival in Victorias City and preparing our dancers in Manapla City as they performed at the Panaad sa Negros Festival of Festivals Competition made me stay in the province for a month.

I am currently at the Bacolod Silay Airport. After staying in Negros Occidental for more than a month ( 2 weeks in Victorias City and another 2 weeks in Manapla + some more days in Bacolod)
