Experience Talikud Island in Leticia by the Sea

Own a piece of Paradise. That’s the promise of Leticia by The Sea once you step into their resort.

Last week, I had the chance to experience the tropical paradiseTalikud Island through the invitation of another blogger friend Blogie. I am very much famioiar with the Samal Island but it was my first time to actually visit Talikud Island.

Talikud Island is located on the southwestern part off Samal Island. From davao City, we took a private speed boat that would bring us directly to Leticia by the Sea Resort.

Leticia by the Sea operates as “Your Private Island Resort” style. Meaning you and your friends are the only ones who will be staying at the whole resort, no other guests! Isn’t that lovely? The whole resort is yours!

Leticia by the Sea is owned and operated by the same passionate team from Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel along J Camus street in downtown Davao City.

The whole island looks like a coconut plantation from afar. There’s just a lot of coconut tress all over. Which added a more rustic feel to our vacation.

We arrived just before lunchtime. And who said beer can’t be served during daytime? The Pale Pilsen really tasted good! Islang isla ang feel!

After lunch Blogie and some other friends went diving while I just contented myself with snorkeling. I love the corals and the fishes in the area. There are facilities for watersports activities like jet ski, wake board, kayak and water trampouline.

There are two large rooms that has an A/C. Other rooms are fan cooled. The furnishings are just so lovely! I love the small details in every room! The lampshades, the framed photos on the wall, and oh, the T/B! It’s just so big! I love it so much! the furnitures are allworks of art. Some of them were even design by Kenneth Cobonpue! Kaloka lang! The god of all furniture designers!

If the furnitures in Leticia by The Sea were designed by the hands of the God of Furniture, then this paradise must be heaven!

The whole place is just so peaceful. there’s a lot of birds flying all the time. The place is perfect for barkada summer outings.

There’s also a large commom area complete with beautifully crafted furnitures overlooking the beach. it’s so serene. Ang sarap talaga ng feeling! Sana ganito na lang araw araw!

Since the resort operates as a “Your own personal paradise”, this means that you also have to bring your own food. There’s a kitchen complete with cookware and utensils that you can use. And to make the whole resort clean and sustainable, and Earth-friendly, the managment encourages the segration of waste prior to disposal. So there’s a separate trash bin for the biodegradables, recyclables, and non biodegradables. all the trash have to be transported back to Davao city for proper waste disposal.

If you wish to stay here, I would suggest you bring playing cards or anything to keep you from getting bored just in case zzzz sets in. good thing our blogger friend Jhelo brought playing cards. Ayun natuto ako mag laro ng Texas Hold ‘em Poker! Exciting!

During our second day, swimming/ snorkeling continued. Sinusulit talaga ang oras! Blogie Jhelo and I left the resort at around 3PM via commercial boat.

It was just an overnight trip to an island paradise tucked in southern Philippines. But it was a trip that defines what my summer is all about. After the failed trip to guimaras last week, now I can say that my summer is already complete with my beach escapade at the Leticia by the Sea in Talikud Island in Davao.
