Kadayawan sa Davao 2011 Festival Teaser
Posted by on July 28, 2011
A few days ago, the Kadayawan sa Davao 2011 festival organizers has released the Kadayawan 2011 teaser. This is not the first time the festival has released a teaser.
The video is aimed to drum up awareness and to create buzz about the upcoming festival which is now nicknamed as the “King of Philippine Festivals”. This is a great (and much cheaper) way of promoting the festival! With a lot of Filipinos now connected to the Internet especially in Facebook and Youtube, I am very sure that this is a great way to promote the Kadayawan sa Davao.
Preparations are now in full swing in Davao, in fact. This year a bigger budget has been allocated for the holding of the festival. So expect a bigger, grander and more colorful Kadayawan sa Davao.
Kadayawan is an annual celebration of thanksgiving for good harvest. Every year the highlights of the festival are the Hiyas ng Kadayawan, a pageant participated by young ladies representing the various tribes of Davao, The Indak Indak sa Kadalanan or the Street dancing Competition and the Pamulak sa Kayadayawan or the Floral Float Parade.
Too bad, BYAHILO will not be able to cover this years fstivities. Although I already have a plane ticket and hotel reservation, as I have another travel itinerary, almost on the same date.
So before you even think of booking flights to orlando, consider traveling to Davao and explore the rich culture of Mindanao! Check the Kadayawan sa Davao 2011 schedule here

I just hope that the festival from my hometown, the Bacolod MassKara Festival , would also create teaser videos that would pump up the hype as the event draws near.

Wow, the Kadayawan teaser is very nice! Makes you want to get there, be part of the celebrations and appreciate the culture of our Filipino brothers in that part of the country ! Can’t wait for the sked.
Wow. This is the number one festival in the Philippines; even merrier than Araw ng Dabaw. Happy Kadayawan Dabawenyos!
