Gardenia Plant Tour!
Posted by on August 3, 2011
A few dys back, I was invited to join the Gardenia Plant Tour for the bloggers. This is the first time I joined a blogger event since I got hospitalized and my thumb got operated.
Although I did send a confirmation to the invite a week before the event, I did send a regrets notice a days before the tour as I might not sure if I can really go there. But after much prodding from some friends, I finally gave in and went to The Gardenia Bakeries Plant located inside the Industrial Park in Mamplasan, Binan Laguna.
The plant is quite near from our house so going to the plant is not a problem. Isang tricycle lang!
I arrived late. (Kasi nga di nako dapat pupunta!) So when I arrived at the Gardenia Plant, I was the only one who was toured inside, the other bloggers were alrady making their way towards the conference room for a short cooking demo where they did some no-cook foods made using the different variants of Gardenia loaf brad.
Gardenia prides itself in baking its bread products in a state-of-the-art bread factory with highly automated equipment sourced out from the best bakery machinery suppliers from all over the world. The company’s assorted bread are also fortified with vitamins and minerals and the classic white bread, which is Gardenia’s banner product, is preferred by many bread-loving Filipinos fo its consistently good taste without the cholesterol, bromate and trans fats – a healthy formulation that has even exceeded recommendations set by the Department of Health.
Gardenia’s superior bakery products have long been a staple in the Filipino diet and it is a feat that many reputable organizations have not failed to notice. As a resounding testament to Gardenia’s excellence in the field, the company has been a recipient of many awards and recognition like the Superbrands award, the Annual National Consumers’ Award as Outstanding Bread Manufacturer for five straight years. Moreover Gardenia has been ISO 9001:2000 certified and most recently the certification was upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certified since 2003 and – an undeniable proof that the company strictly adheres to the highest standards of food safety and quality. The ISO certification reaffirms quality excellence in the entire production process while the HACCP accreditation is the consumers assurance that all Gardenia breads are safe to eat and is produced in a hygienic and pest free environment.
The whole plant tour was a very informative and it has taught me a lot about food safety, hygiene, the logistical nightmare of delivering freshly made breads from as far as the Cagayan Valley and the Ilocos Region in the North, down to the Mindanao.
It was so fun seeing how a flour is made into a dough and then ultimately transformed into a great tasting bread we all love!
I got so amazed at the 6K machine where a total of 6K loaves of bread is being made in an hour! Ang dami di ba!
Gardenia Bakeries is open for tours daily except Saturdays. All you need to do is schedule it in advance. Tour hours is 7 am to 4 pm, to schedule, kindly contact (632) 889 8890 loc. 258

Yey! You made it! Thanks Byahilo! Nice seeing you again
Looks like an interesting tour. I am looking at taking one of the amazing filipina tours I might have to work this into my trip too.
