Celebrating the 20 years of Tigkaralag Festival in Pavia
Posted by on November 3, 2011
Last October 30 I went to Iloilo to witness the annual celebration of theTigkaralag Festival. This year, the town of Pavia in the province of Iloilo is celebrating the 20th year of the festival.
Tigkaralag is a Kinaray-a term for All Souls Day. During the competition, there were five entries that participated + 2 non competing groups. Most groups portrayed the stories of good vs evil like the Seven Capital Sins, Abortion, Destruction of Nature, etc…
What I like with the presentations is that after portraying the eerie characters at the end of the storyline, the good still triumphs, there are lessons learned.
The freaky sound effect adds more drama to the presentation.
It was a very well attended event. A lot of locals and tourists went to the Pavia Plaza to see the presentations. It was my first time to witness the Tigkaralag Festival and I love the presentations, especially of the champions group.
Hopefully I can still go back to Pavia Iloilo next year to witnes the Tigkaralakg Festival 2012. Many thanks to Honorable Jo John Paul Penol, Councilor of the Town of Pavia and to Iloilo Bloggers Society for extending the invitation to witness this event!

The most important brown vest you’ll ever own is the chaps pants. Our cheap thomas sabo bracelets are generally less expensive than mens corduroy jacket and sheepskin coats for men.
