Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay
Posted by on December 14, 2011
Tagaytay has always been known for its cool climate. And one of the finest places to experience this is in Taal Vista Hotel.
The cool breeze in the morning and the spectacular view of the Taal Volcano made Tagaytay a popular weekend destination.
The Hotel was built in the 1930′s. It is a blend of timeless architecture and modern facilities.
when Mica and I was invited to stay there last week, our room has a stunning of Taal Volcano, probably the most photographed icon of the city. It was drizzling when we arrived and the whole lake is covered with fog.
The room has a small veranda, perfect place to have your morning cup of coffee. The hotel has 261 rooms, Each room comes with individually controlled airconditioning units, cable TV, minibar and internet access.
the bed and pillows are very soft and comfortable. you’ll definitely have a good night’s sleep. The Toilet and bathroom is squeaky clean.
Dining at Cafe on the Ridge, the hotel’s restaurant is a must try! The restaurant offers mouth watering Filipino dishes as well as a few International fares. Just recently, Cafe on the Ridge has been included on the elite 2011 Best Restaurants Guide. An annual list compiled by the Philippine Tatler.
Mica and I stayed here for a night. Instead of going out of the hotel we opted to just dine at their restaurant. For dinner, we had Kare-kare (my choice) and sizzling Bulalo Steak (Mica’s pick)
Surprisingly, the serving are big enough for sharing. The food is great! The Lunch buffet is also a big hit!
but prior to our dinner feast, we checked out the Asmara Spa where we enjoyed a 90-minite Hot Stone Massage. The massage is so relaxing. I love it! Its so calming, my backache is now gone.
After dinner we went to the lobby where a gingerbread house was built just beside the fireplace. the gingerbread hose smells really good. It completes the whole Christmas decoration of the hotel. Their Christmas tree is also popular among the guests.
Taal Vista Hotel hotel also has several function rooms and a Grand Ballroom perfect for weddings, conferences and other special events. When we where in Tagaytay, the Department of Tourism is also having its conference at the hotel.
When we were there, we stayed at the newer building. I was informed that soon, the older building will be closed and will also ndergo renovation. Yey for improvements!
If there’s one thing that really made Taal Vista stand out is its people. The hotel staff is very warm and friendly, from the front desk to its spa therapists as well as the restaurant staff. they are the best when it comes to customer Service! Thumbs up to them!
